Scrap turned out better than I thought it would

Glued up some scrap and went to cuttin'

So as an informal poll, what do you like better the red or green flocking (green box provided for comparison, I think I already posted this one)

I love the Red myself, I think it goes so well with the inlay pieces.  JMHO

Nice work. As far as color for the flocking, I think it really depends on several factors. For me, I decide based on the coloring of the overall project so in this case, I think the red ties in with the overall look of the wood.

Great job Jim, the flocking really formalizes the boxes and I think any color would look really nice.  Can you explain how you do the corners please?

I cheat

the walls of the boxes are one piece.  The first ones I did were rounded, but I found during sanding I had trouble keeping and equal radius for all 4 corners so I went to mitered corners

And there in lies the problem.  My wife likes the red, but my girlfriend likes the green

I would suggest listening to your wife. much easier and cheaper to get a. new girlfriend then to go through a divorce with the wife. (Especially if the wife finds out about the girlfriend. )

Hmmm, after some thought no that can't happen.  It took me three tries to find a girl friend who also believes that being married does not stop the boyfriend girlfriend relationship.  The responsible side of her (wife) likes the red, but the wild wonderful women I met likes the green.

It's kind of like the words nude and naked that people think mean the same.  Nude means no clothes, but naked means no clothes with a teasin' pleasin' attitude

I think I like the red also with the type of wood you used with it. Of course green looks good to.
