Dave Monk Posted March 8, 2020 Report Posted March 8, 2020 What type of double sided tape are you using to hold your wood pieces on your sanding shims? amazingkevin 1 Quote
rjweb Posted March 8, 2020 Report Posted March 8, 2020 Dave, I don’t do Intarsia, but other projects using double sided tape, I used carpet double sided tape, bought it at Lowe’s or Home Depot, RJ Dave Monk 1 Quote
don in brooklin on Posted March 8, 2020 Report Posted March 8, 2020 I heard Judy Gale Roberts speak a few years ago and her comment was to use cheap stuff as the good stuff stuck too well. I bought mine at a Dollar store, I have 2 sided tape that I use for turning and once it gets on it is hard to get pieces apart. FYI: Judy has an article on using sanding shims and in it she recommends light traffic carpet tape. The link is https://intarsia.com/blogs/news/using-sanding-shims and you can down load to article there too. Dave Monk, amazingkevin and GrampaJim 3 Quote

ROFL, Dave after having done those tiny pieces for about half of the intarsia you are working on, now, NOW you ask? I used a roll from HD, and like Don says, it sticks really really good, when it is gone, off to the dollar store I will go. Dave Monk, meflick and amazingkevin 2 1 Quote
