I can see from other posts that 3M 45 is the spray adhesive preferred by a lot of members.  It seems to be difficult to get these days.  What other spray adhesive would you recommend?

Has anyone had experience with Loctite's sprays?  Which one, 100, or 200?  Thanks for the advise.  Jim

I use Elmer's. Works great. But I mostly use the peel n stick shipping labels that I print my patterns on.

I have used so many different ones - 45 is by far my goto.

However, any spray adhesive will work depending on your process for adhering patterns.

Some of us attach directly to the wood, some to shelving paper and others to adhesive labels.

Some will add a layer of packing tape over top of the pattern, some use painters tape + pattern + packing tape

So many variations available

I use full sheet shipping labels to print the pattern on.. I do use shelf liner / painters tape on the wood.. then the pattern.. Shipping labels are supposed to be sticky and not fall off packages.. so directly to the wood might be a disaster, LOL

I also use the full sheet shipping labels with shelf liner.  I tried applying the shipping labels directly to wood; not a good idea, difficult to remove.

I bought a package of 250 labels for about $28, slightly over 10 cents each.  Kevin buys them 1000 at a time for a better price but 250 will last me a long time.

45 is my favorite but it doesnt seem like its available anymore.   They must have learned that people are using it to stick stuff together and outlawed it or something, who knows?

I have 77 and loctite 200.

The 77 works like the 45 but just adjusted the drying time for it to get tacky.  The 200 seems to be much more picky and if I dont get it attached right to that 30 second window it will either fall off of be permenant.  It also leave little pills on the wood that are hard to sand off on really small pieces.

That said, the nozzle on the 200 is much better because it doesnt clog as easliy as the 77 so there is that.

The 3M 77 does clog easily so I save the nozzle on my empty 77 cans, keep them in mineral spirits to unclog. Whenever the 77 can clogs I always have a clean one ready. Not my idea. Someone in the Village suggested it.

I have found that if I simply clean the nozzle of the can I'm using after each use with a brush dipped in mineral spirits the nozzel does not clog.  I had tried to pull the nozzle off and put in in a container with MS but that became a hassle.  Cleaning it with a brush is a simple tasks I do each time and have not had a clogging problem since.

I simply wipe off the nozzle with my finger after every use.

I do not have a problem with the nozzle clogging.  The instructions for use on the can, step 4, says "After use, invert can, depress spray tip until spray is free of adhesive."  It works for me.

Others must have also had this problem.  Amazon lists a package of 10 replacement tips for 3M77, but it is currently unavailable:  Amazon.com : 3M Replacement Spray NOZZLES (10 Pack) - 3M Spray Adhesive 77 : Office Products
