Brokentone Posted July 8, 2021 Report Posted July 8, 2021 Could someone please either make or direct me to a country church compound pattern? Thanks Bob Quote
Birchbark Posted July 10, 2021 Report Posted July 10, 2021 How thick of material can you cut Bob? Russell Quote
Brokentone Posted July 10, 2021 Author Report Posted July 10, 2021 I have a hawk so 2” would work, I have been cutting quite a bit of 1 1/2. Thanks Bob Quote
Birchbark Posted July 13, 2021 Report Posted July 13, 2021 It is going to be small then. 2" x 2" at best. Correct? Russell Quote
Brokentone Posted July 13, 2021 Author Report Posted July 13, 2021 Yes it would be cut from 1 1/2 or 2x2 I have been cutting birdhouses from 1 1/2 x1 1/2 . I would like to make as gifts for church friends. Bob Quote

WayneMahler Posted July 15, 2021 Report Posted July 15, 2021 I had sent him one in a private message. Not my normal but thought it to be the best starting point. Seems he wants to use a scroll saw and table saw to batch them out. Glad I did it and learned a few things along the journey. Not as easy as it appears. Russell if you do attempt this I wish you the best. Fab4 1 Quote

Brokentone Posted July 16, 2021 Author Report Posted July 16, 2021 Russel and Wayne, I do see a few problems in designing this pattern, cannot cut main building roofline with steeple, roof overhangs front and rear, front door as it will be on rear also. My latest thinking is to cut the main building roof angles on the table saw, cut the cathedral windows in the sides make an applied front door and applied roof to achieve the overhangs then apply the compound cut steeple/bell tower. Bob All these things came up in consideration when drawing this up. Just no way to include them with out them being separate pieces then attaching with glue. The same applied to the cupola is the steeple / bell tower although there you could just add a small bell. This is possible, but it will be a lot of work for one church to be cut out and then assembled. @Birchbark here is the rough draft of the drawing. Quote
