Only one I don't have a clue about is the box of ?cheese? We still have that exact flour sifter, but never use it. And, wow, an address book that didn't require a battery. We had smart technology.

I must be ancient. The only one I didn't recognize was the food stuff in the carboard box. Cheese of some sort?

If my memory serves me correctly, it is USDA Gov’t issued surplus cheese. It was given, at no charge, to lower income families.

@barb.j.enders The blue light is from the Kmart and maybe some other “mart” type stores (we had S-marts and I think they did them too.) They used to do a “blue light special” sales at random times and on random things in the store during the day. It would be only for a short period of time. You had to be in the store and go to the blue light (which would be on shining blue and twirling and flashing” to know about the special and get it during that short period of time.

The two I missed were the ones from cars. I didn’t remember seeing a car with that kind of push buttons for shifting gears (understood what it was, just don’t recall having ever seen one) or the push button on the floor next to the peddle. I think I had. Seen that before, but, wasn’t sure what it was for.  DH did explain it. He’s my same age. 😏

I never got that either. We had Red Light specials here and that light was the place you stayed away from because it turned women into monsters :)

I had a friend's parent that had a push button shift system.  I was too young to drive at the time but I do remember seeing it.  The button on the floor was for switching to high beams.  Again, didn't drive but we were on the highway al ot heading out camping with the family, so I remember my dad using it.
