Knee Surgery

I had an MRI on my left knee Monday.....found out today that I have a meniscus tear & will require surgery, also cleaning out arthritis while in there......twisted my knee at work back in middle of March on a slippery floor.....4-5 weeks recovery they said because of my age (57)....surgery is scheduled week from Friday....no sympathy needed, just a few prayers that day

Sorry about your knee, but you will make out fine, I was in my 50's when i had my knee done, was back to work within 3 weeks, and I climb ladders all day, will say a prayer, RJ

Dan I wish you well and pray for full success and healing following surgery. I have had left knee surgery 5-6 years ago and healing went well. My father had bilateral knee replacements and has done well for many many years. He was 100 in march. keep us posted

Dan I'm sure you will handle this like pro. I had both of mine done and the end result was great. 'll still add my prayers for you and the surgeons and a quick recovery. Keep us posted on your progress.

Dan, sorry you have had this added to your plate.  The good news is that a meniscus repair is probably one of the more easier things to recover from for most folks.  I pray that all goes weil for you/

Surgery went well this morning……resting now with cooling device on it……crutches for weekend per doc…thank you for the prayers, God is good

Great to hear your recovering. The ice circulation device was very helpful for me and sleeping in a recliner. When the man came to take the Icing machine back I thought about shooting him but it was fine.

Update……going back to work tomorrow ……desk job for a few weeks …..post op appointment is tomorrow

Update…..desk job got ended after just one day…..walking with no pain or limp…went post op appointment yesterday, he approved I can do fork truck driving only & also 8hr days instead of rotating 12’s for a month….then follow up with doctor 1st part of June…..safety guy at work said “ I’ve never seen anybody recover from meniscus surgery that fast”…..it was 4 days since surgery

I definitely didn’t think I would doing this good already….restrictions are…. , no deep knee bends, no crawling & no squatting
