They both look very well done have not tried intarsia as yet, how to you round over the edges if you don't mind sharing.

Intarsia work is usually done by extensive sanding and shaping the different pieces cut from different woods and sometimes adding shims under interior pieces to help add depth and dimension to the piece. Judy Gale Roberts is one of the preeminent Intarsia experts. Her website is https://intarsia.com she has many patterns from beginners to experts and several are offered as a “classroom” in a tube so they have detailed directions and photos that you get when taking one of her classes. If you go to her website, she has a lot of information to help people of all levels, including beginners. Check out her “Getting Started”, “Tips and Tricks”, “FAQ” and “Free Patterns” sections on her website, it is well worth a perusal. She also has a couple books to help those interested in learning Intarsia, great option if you cannot take an in person class with her. Kathy Wise is also one of the other Intarsia experts who provides great patterns and information and has several books for beginners well worth getting (check your local libraries as they may have some of their books.)  Kathy also offers some free patterns on her site. https://wiseintarsia.com
