congratulations. I love hearing about people who are able to make it for a life long commitment. I love being married to the girl I met when I was just 16 years old. she still is and always will be, my best friend and most precious mother of our 4 children and always my most important person in my life. oh, we have 60 years of marriage and going for as many as God will give us.

I love hearing these stories.  My wife and I have been married 51 years.  We went steady in high school, went to different four year colleges and got married right after graduation.   We wrote lots of letters in college as phone calls were very expensive.  We kept the letters but had a bonfire shortly after our first was born.  We decided the letters were best kept private.

I met Bette at a high school dance. I had left school and was doing my Cabinet making apprenticeship. My Sister, 18 months younger then me, set up a blind date, I think she only wanted me to give her and her friends a lift as I had a licence and a car. Anyhow, I took one sheila to the dance and came home with another. I had my 21st birthday as a married man.

I love these stories. Now the woman considering marriage asks herself, "Is this the man I want to spend every other weekend with my kids?"  My how things have changed

I truly don't know where they meet each other these days Dick.
When I was a young bloke there was always a dance on Saturday nights at a hall somewhere near. Just somebody with a record player and we'd all turn up, no drinking or strife, just dance with the girls. Sometimes they had a small cover charge as they had a band. Good days.
