courtym74 Posted December 29, 2022 Report Posted December 29, 2022 Hello all, so I had someone request an ornament that looks like a "country crock" butter tub. Apparently their daughter loves butter so much that they keep an industrial sized tub on hand at all times. I thought she was joking. Apparently not. Anyone want to take a crack at making this resemble an ornament?? Quote
jollyred Posted December 30, 2022 Report Posted December 30, 2022 John Nelson posted some time ago about using a photo pasted to a wood backing, then cutting around the photo. That might work for this, if you can match the photo on both sides of the wood. Tom Dan and barb.j.enders 2 Quote
Dan Posted December 30, 2022 Report Posted December 30, 2022 I agree, just print, paste and cut. Add a coat of Modge Podge or Triple Thick Glaze to protect the paper. danny 1 Quote
LarryEA Posted December 31, 2022 Report Posted December 31, 2022 (edited) Maybe do a "REVERSE IMAGE" and do an image transfer I have done many of these reverse image transfers and they look great and they look painted on. Print the label Reverse image, and get a bottle of Mod Podge: Instructions Paint an even layer of Mod Podge across the entire wood surface. (add some to the image transfer also) Place the printed photo face down onto the wood. Allow wood piece to dry for 72 hours. (72 Hrs is a suggestion but do make sure it has dried.) Spray the back of the photo with water or dampen it with a sponge. (remove gently and add more water as you go) Gently start rubbing the wet paper. ... You will begin to see the photo showing through It will take a little practice and will look professionally done with a couple coats of lacquer. (add some to the image transfer also) Place the printed photo face down onto the wood. One thing I left out: Roll all the excess Mod Podge out ASAP Allow wood piece to dry for 72 hours. (72 Hrs is a suggestion but do make sure it has dried.) I remove the paper with a wet finger, very gently Spray the back of the photo with water or dampen it with a sponge. The only issue with this would be the printing would also be reversed, therefore, challenging to read! Quote
