For some reason my son sent this to me this evening.  If if was making fun, he does not know good, if he was just making me remember he did, with a tear in my eye, I am not sure of his reasons, but a huge reminder to me of much, much better times for young kids.. much better. I personally would not trade them for anything kids have to day,,, other than youth.

Just if you were from this era what it was. Better than most before or after:  My response to him:

Three slide steps forward, twirl three steps backward,,, ahh honey.... hold me a little closer,, yep we actually touched our partners in those days, and they were of the opposite sex!  and snuggled together.. snuggled is when you hold each other close when dancing... and check out the hair due... combed neatly looking clean... You of later years do not know what the good times were.  After the dance you went "cruising" in your car for a while and then "Parking"  Ahhh Parking,,, Thank god I was born when I was and lived the years I have!

I'm with you, Paul. I started playing in bands at the age of 12 and and did so until my late 50s when I was tired of lugging amps and equipment on weekend. I have played all three songs in the videos already posted. The songs that usually got the best response were from the era you discuss. Unchained Melodies, My Girl, Sitt'in on the Dock of the Bay, Georgia on My Mind. These were songs performed by stars that didn't have to be half naked or vulgar to please the audience. Surprisingly, these songs also received the biggest response for the audencies where we performed.

I do not even remember the other two songs posted. But I was an oddball then and still. I liked Classical and jazz more than the real rock stuff.

Yes Paul, those were the days. I have said for years we grew up in the best of times. And yes, it was a thrill to dance with a girl you had the "hots" for. And walking out to the dance floor holding hands. I will never forget those days.

Beautifully done. I love that song. My heart broke when Bobby Hatfield died. His replacement has done a great job.

Austin is part of the Acapella group "Homefree", they won a competition, totally awesome.  Check out this remake of an old song.  Watch for the guy playing the "Harmonica", and then how low Tim Foust, their bass goes.

I recommend you also watch how they did "Ring of Fire" too.

That was outstanding! Thanks for introducing us to a new group/artist. At least for me they are new. I've never heard of them before. Now, I have a whole new place to spend time. And that one guy who does all the sound effects is awesome. Wonderful music.

Home Free has been on my favorites list for a while now.  Don McLean chose them to remake American Pie with him for it's 50th anniversary. I think I've only heard 3 songs they have done with instrumental accompaniment.  I saw them in concert and the bass actually vibrates the seats.  They are awesome!

My Youngest Daughter sang Our Wedding Song which was

Unchained Melody.  This was to My Second Marriage.  It did

bring Happy Tears.  Is such a Moving Song.  Paul my feelings

about the Old days are like yours.  Such Wonderful and Happy

P.S.  The Second Unchained Melody is MY NEW FAVORITE.
