Gene Howe Posted August 18, 2023 Report Posted August 18, 2023 For the 5th time, same credit card. Chase is good about detecting suspicious charges. This one was for $ 0.44. Probably just a test to see if they could proceed. I rarely use cash for in store purchases over $50.00. Of course, the card is used for online stuff. One of those transactions was the culprit, I'm sure. That card is used for only one recurring charge. It's a big hassle, nevertheless. Maddening! wombatie and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
Sycamore67 Posted August 18, 2023 Report Posted August 18, 2023 That is a real pain ! For sites I do not really trust, I use Paypal. That way my credit card is not exposed to company I do not trust. OCtoolguy, Dave Monk, jollyred and 2 others 4 1 Quote
Dan Posted August 18, 2023 Report Posted August 18, 2023 I removed the 3-digit security code from my cards. Never had an issue after that. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Joe W. Posted August 19, 2023 Report Posted August 19, 2023 I just had a $25 charge from AMAZON Digital on my debit card, which I nor my wife did. The bank made it right and said they've been seeing this activity recently. First time in over 5 years we've had a problem with credit/debit card unauthorized use. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted August 19, 2023 Report Posted August 19, 2023 My wife has $151 charge on her Amazon account, the credit card company took it off and sent her a new credit card. I received an email about owing Amazon $151 but did not have a charge or anything listed on Amazon. Been watching my acount and nothing. Another scam. Gene Howe, Dave Monk and OCtoolguy 2 1 Quote
Millwab Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 The ones that I get a kick out of are the emails telling me my account has been compromised, suspended, or cancelled when I never had an account to begin with . Just click here to fix it. Yeah, sure Gene Howe and ChelCass 1 1 Quote

A little sandpaper to remove the code. I just memorize the code. If a vendor or server asks for the code I tell them to run it as a credit card. If they can't I pay cash. Since most places don't need the code I some rimes give a fake code. If the transaction goes smooth I know they are up to something. Gene Howe 1 Quote
