Carol Pilgrim Posted December 23, 2023 Report Posted December 23, 2023 I am trying to cut the name INDY in an ornament. The letters are thick. When i come to the D i know I need to make a bridge so the whole thing doesn't drop out in the middle. I need to leave the middle of the D attached to the wood and cut out the rest if that makes sense to you. I am doing something wrong because i can't do it right. I will also need to do it with an A but i know to cut the across part of it short and not go all the way. Any advice for the D? I am visual and cannot figure it out today. Thanks. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Solution Carol Pilgrim Posted December 23, 2023 Author Solution Report Posted December 23, 2023 I think i just figured it out so I am going to try this. Use a stick and a half moon shape beside it to split the D OCtoolguy 1 Quote
preprius Posted December 23, 2023 Report Posted December 23, 2023 Last week I was sifting thru font that are based from stencils. My letter problem was an "R". Using dafont website and selected stencil. I type both the uppercase and lower case "R" and quickly (5 sec) stepped thru pages of fonts. There were a few of methods making bridges. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
don in brooklin on Posted December 23, 2023 Report Posted December 23, 2023 The easiest way is to use a stencil font or use it as a model to how a character looks. I have at last minute used white out too. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

Dave Monk Posted December 24, 2023 Report Posted December 24, 2023 A lot of times when I find a font I like I just use a pencil and make a bridge. MarieC, barb.j.enders and OCtoolguy 3 Quote
Smercislau Posted Friday at 08:24 AM Report Posted Friday at 08:24 AM (edited) I had the same issue with letters dropping out, especially with "O" and "A". What worked for me was using these printable letter stencils. The designs already have the bridges built in, so I didn’t have to figure out where to add them myself. Way easier and saved me time fussing with shapes in Corel. Edited Monday at 10:47 AM by Smercislau OCtoolguy 1 Quote
