Jim McDonald Posted March 19, 2024 Report Posted March 19, 2024 Had a high draft number in 73 and then had student deferments. Later (78), when I tried to enlist, I was deemed medically ineligible due to bee sting allergies. Quote
Bo Liljeborn Posted March 19, 2024 Report Posted March 19, 2024 Don’t know if I am allowed to write in this topic sense I am neither military service men or American, and was to young during VN, so if not delete it. Despite not done service I have been dealing with many war vets from later wars under my 15+ year in the Red Cross Trauma team were I have tried my best to help vets with different grade of PTSD back to feeling as good as they can, and I have work with hundreds over the years. Even victims for war crimes like POW.s who suffered torture has been in my care, so I hope I have done some good and I feel the outmost respect for all how done service. Scrappile and danny 2 Quote

Yes, God bless you for helping. It is a very important part of war that most never realize or hear about. I was very fortunate in my tour. But I know many that were not. I did not realize it before but today is Vietnam Veterans day. So thank you and God bless all that server voluntarily as I did but even more so to those that were drafted but went anyway without complaint and served well! That had to be hard.
