Popular Post barb.j.enders Posted March 7, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted March 7, 2024 This is my latest piece. Pattern by Bill Blodgett and ended up being modified because of "mistakes" made. Woods used were Aspen, Walnut and Cherry. The music was antiqued by soaking in coffee and then dried in the oven. Backer is 1/4" bb ply painted with acrylic paint. Cut with a #3 blade. Finish is 3 coats of blonde shellac. jollyred, Zoot Fenster, Dan and 9 others 12 Quote
planeur Posted March 7, 2024 Report Posted March 7, 2024 Bravo Barb très beau! Kind of piece I like, because I love a lot piano pieces.... Will remember it for a futur piece! "The music was antiqued by soaking in coffee and then dried in the oven " : first time I read that kind of work, and what kind of coffee do you use.... ? Do you play piano ? As I see the back paper is an Oscar Peterson piece, artist I liked a lot! Have a good day! planeur barb.j.enders 1 Quote

I don't drink tea so I don't have any in the house. I just ran water through the mornings grounds again for a weak brew. Put the paper in a small rimmed baking sheet and let it soak a minute or so. Drained and then put in the toaster oven on warm. I have the knowledge to play piano. My mother was a pianist and taught for decades. I don't play anymore. I keep hearing my mother's voice in my head saying "that isn't right!" The music is Hymn to Freedom. One of my favorites both as a piano piece and when I sang it in choir. planeur and danny 1 1 Quote
