Looking for Christmas Tree Topper pattern

My store-bought Christmas tree topper light-up angel burned out last year.  I'd like to make a 3D star or angel that I could use, maybe multiple layers with LEDs. I did a SSV search but didn't turn up much. Has any seen any nice looking scrollsawn ones?

Hmm, answering my own post - using the Microsoft CoPilot site might lead to some interesting designs if I figure out the right wording to ask it.

This star looks like something Alex Fox might design.  Check his site.  You could also contact him and I am sure he could make you a pattern.  He is a member here.

Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts magazine had a pattern for a lighted, wooden star.  I don't recall the issue it was in, but it was essentially a star shaped box with decorative cutouts, filled with lights.

As I recall, the most difficult thing was attaching it to the tree.  I made one several years ago for my daughter and I think I ended up forming a makeshift spring shaped cone out of a wire hanger.

You may have to buy a cheap topper and repurpose the spring from it.

How was the one you are replacing attached?  Can you repurpose that?

There are a couple of toppers in SWC

There is also an Intarsia Pattern in issue 69.  Not lighted but it shows how to attach.
