I came across a scroll saw pattern to make a bowl. I've never made one before so it seemed like a challenge. You will see in the picture that the segments do NOT line up. Each ring is larger than it should be leaving a 'shoulder'. Is that because I set the angle of the cut wrong? or something else? Thanks for reading.post.thumb.jpg.218a55aef345a398fb897401db3dfb5b.jpg

Your angle is off just a little. For calculating the angle there is a web site just for this  https://www.scrollmania.com/AngleCalc.html

I think you always round up.

If the bottom is not glued on yet the you should be able to glue the rings and fix with a spindle sander.

I really like the wood choice.

I agree if bottom is not glued, and the rings are glued,  then sand the inside and outside.

Then glue the bottom on, and sand again.

I just did this error on the canarywood hat. I was off just a little. Because I forgot to measure the thickness of the board after the thickness planer.  I just remembered the board being 3/4".

Thanks. No, I think it was in one of the SSWC magazines. I went looking and found it listed on Pinterest. Here is a screen shot. If you have that magazine, PM me and I'll try to scan it and send it.
