Travis Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 I've looked into the Epilog lasers before. I don't know a ton about them, but I know a tish. Epilog is probably the biggest/best known. Someday I'd like to get one for an engraving business. Lorn.S 1 Quote
Lucky2 Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 Lorn, try checking out the Sawmill Creek woodworking site, you might find what your looking for there. They have a special section set-up just for CNC and laser work, and they don't mind sharing info with you. .Len Quote

sullyscroller Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 Real scrollers & woodworkers don't use lasers !!!! If you don't smell sawdust you ain't woodworking IMHO sully Quote
Kragax Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 That has to be expensive equipment. Might be interesting to play with for engraving though. Quote
ike Posted February 2, 2015 Report Posted February 2, 2015 When you use a lazor you are not a wood worker you are a production worker sure you have to write programs but that is not hand Crafted. Quote
ike Posted February 2, 2015 Report Posted February 2, 2015 I have been at craft shows where s;omeone would ask if that is lasor cut andI am highly insulted. Quote
browders Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 My opinion is that laser cutters and their ilk have uses in certain situations. I understand that scrollers trying to compete with them at craft shows are placed at a disadvantage, especially if people do not label them for what they are. Blanket denouncements of them are probably not fair. Kind of like cheese snobs who belittle Velveeta as a cheese. It has its uses in certain circumstances. That said, I enjoy it when we get the occasional controversial topic. It adds a little excitement to the forum. Jim Quote
