  1. It's February! Love is in the air! This month's scroll saw challenge is "I heart _____". This can be anything you love. Maybe it's a gift for your significant other. Or maybe something you made for your kids or grandkids just to show them how much you love them. Or maybe keep it simple with a football team and nachos! Whatever it is, post a project to show your love.
  2. I know what happened. I tried to fix something and broke something else. Never turn your back on technology. It should be there now.
  3. "We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup." I wanted to wish everybody on SSV a very Merry Christmas. I hope you are able to share it with those you love. I really appreciate all of you. You are what makes SSV such a fun place to be. Thank you all. I hope 2022 is a fantastic year for you and your scrolling hobby. Happy Holidays!
  4. Next year, I'll only do it on Christmas day.
  5. I couldn't get the Christmas lights working this year, so I went with the snow. I guess a bulb burnt out. One goes out, they all go out. There has been changes to the software this last year, so the developer who made those cool lights hasn't updated their software yet. Hopefully next year, because I thought they were a lot of fun, too.
  6. The snow will go away the day after Christmas. It's rather handy like that. I like to do something special to the site a couple days before Christmas.
  7. That's strange because I have an SSL certificate. Maybe go to https://www.scrollsawvillage.com instead of http://www.scrollsawvillage.com. Usually it automatically forwards to the secure site. They have like 3 versions of SSL certificate. I don't have the big fancy one. Just the basic one.
  8. Very good insight. Thank you!
  9. I've been saving up to buy a new jointer for the shop. I've had my heart set on the Jet 6" with helical head. When I first started looking at them, they were about $1,500. But with supply chain issues, the jointer is much more expensive and backordered by several months. In you opinion (and without political jabs or commentary), do you think the price will go down in the near future? Or do you suppose it'll stay this way and I might as well get on the waiting list?
  10. Silver and Gold patrons can access....so it should be available to you. Under Community, click Groups. It should be there. Let me know if you don't see it.
  11. I bet it's no surprise that this month's scroll saw challenge is about the gifts we made for friends and family. I always find that handmade gifts are so much more meaningful and appreciated. Post some pics of some of the cool stuff you're making for gifts this Holiday season. Happy Holidays!
  12. Not sure about on a phone. It might be hidden on mobile. The search box has lots of options. I just wish it defaulted to the category you're currently in instead of searching the entire website. 'course it will only work if the person uploading the pattern titled the image or put your keyword in the description. A lot of times, it's just "img456.jpg", which isn't too helpful.
  13. Looks like we got your account squared away. I guess there was some conflicting invoices that was messing up the logic. At any rate, you should be set. I'm still getting help from tech support. I did notice a couple of times where those buttons arent' showing up when they should be. So for other accounts, I'm trying to find out what the deal is. That is a strange quirk. I think it's basically because it's looking at what you spent. So it knows you have a a $10 package and sees the gold as a $5 package. The difference being the Bronze and Silver packages are yearly packages, and the Gold package is monthly. So it calls it a downgrade becaise $5<$10.
  14. I heard back from their tech team...the ticket is being elevated to the next tier for problem-makers like me. I'm sure it will take some time for me to hear back.
  15. I upgraded the software last week. I don't' remember it being a problem before, or at least nobody flagged it. I have a ticket open to the software developers. It's unlikely they'll get back to me before Monday at the earliest, though.
  16. Hmmmm.....yah, I've been messing with it too. Seems like if you're a bronze member, upgrade/downgrading options aren't available. I might have to put a ticket in for the software developers on this one. I'll keep poking around to see what I can come up with.
  17. If you go to the subscriptions page, you should be able to upgrade your membership. At the bottom of the tier, it should say something like "Upgrade" or similar. https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/subscriptions/ Let me know if you still have troubles.
  18. I think I have the special area all squared away. Here is a demo video on how it works. Hopefully y'all find it useful.
  19. Thanks to all of the designers this year! We had some really great designs to add to our ornament book. We couldn't have done this without you. The announcement page is here:
  20. You wouldn't be "paying for it" per se. It would be basically an extra feature or area for folks who support SSV at silver level or above. Most people who are SSV Patrons do it to help me offset the cost of running SSV and to get access to the extra design tutorials, project workshop, bookmarks and a couple other perks. This would sweeten the pot a bit. That's the main reason why I'm a little concerned as to whether it will work. It's a pretty limited group of people, so it's hard to guess how much activity it would. Once I get this off the ground and tested, I'm hoping to open it other special interest areas.
  21. Just a reminder that these Business Kits will be on sale through Cyber Monday. This is your chance to get both of these for 50% off! That's only $10 each, which is a killer deal. Previous years are also available at regular price. Also, if anybody have tried these out, please leave a review. It is really helpful for folks who are looking other people's experiences. These business kits help support SSV so we can keep the lights on and continue serving the scrolling community. Thanks!
  22. I'm happy to announce that our Ornaments For Charity - 2021 Edition eBook is now available! For the last 11 years, members of Scroll Saw Village have donated their talents to designing ornaments for this unique eBook of patterns. This year, we added 11 designers to design 55 additional patterns. The book has gotten so large, we had to split it into 2 books. Book 1 covers our first 10 years; 2010-2021. Our newest book, Book 2, covers 2021+. Between the two books, we have 145 pages with 445 Holiday ornament patterns! So be sure to download both books. You can download the eBooks for free to check them out. If you decide to keep these amazing pattern books, we ask you to donate to your favorite charity (we're on the honor system here). Remember, this isn't about "buying" an eBook of patterns, it's about helping those in need. So dig deep when donating to your favorite charity. Please spread the word about these wonderful eBooks of patterns. Post to your favorite social media, other clubs, and organizations. The more people who know about it, the more money we're able to raise for worthy causes. You can find those eBooks here. There will be a tab on the navigation menu through Christmas. After Christmas, it will be moved under the Patterns tab in the navigation bar. Special thanks to the following designers for donating patterns to this year's Ornaments For Charity eBook: @Travis @Oges @don in brooklin on @Dan @Jim Blume @RabidAlien @Fab4 @grampa @meflick @jr42 @glucas4
