  2. I'm not sure how you assemble the clocks, but I wonder if you drill a smaller hole that goes all the way through. Maybe 1/2" or 3/4" wide. That way a person can simply push a pencil through the back of the piece to pop out the clock. Might be a nice way for your customer to easily pop out the clock for battery changing or resetting.
  3. Yup. We're on Instagram and Twitter too. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/scrollsawvillage/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/scrollsawvillage/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/scrollsawvillag
  4. Just a silly little joke. If you take a survey and ask "Should you buy a new scroll saw," the answer is 100% Yes. A little added side joke is that there is a well known yellow scroll saw.
  5. FB changed their algorithm to favor friends and family posts (which is the way it should be). SSV has about 5000 followers. But a post might only reach 500-1000 followers. It gets more views the more people who click like or comment, especially in a short amount of time. If you want to make sure all of SSV pics show up in your feed, just go to the SSV page, click the "Following" button and choose "See First."
  6. Do you have Photoshop? If so, you can write a quick batch script.
  7. I posted this on SSV's Facebook page, but I thought it would be fun to share here too. BTW, if you aren't following SSV on Facebook, you're missing out. You can find it here.

  9. I have that one.
  10. Could you do something like this. Your main picture is under 200px. That makes it difficult to blow up and still get details. Then for the second picture, have it about 400px that's zoomed in to show some details so they can see what they're getting.
  11. Hmm. I think it's really hard to see what it would look like, but a decent solution. The other ones are so blurry, I wouldn't know what I'm getting. Do you have any of these cut? the best solution would be to have a picture of the finished project. I'd shoot it at 3/4 angle so it can't be traced. Maybe put a flag across it that says "Pattern Only" or "PDF Pattern" or something so folks aren't confused that they're getting a pattern, not the puzzle. I'd also title the product to indicate it's a pattern.
  12. Howdy All. I'm happy to introduce a new section on SSV for Suppliers! This is very similar to our Pattern Shops section. This will be a directory of places to find suppliers of scroll saw supplies. This includes places that sell scroll saws, tools, replacement parts, accessories, scroll saw blades, clock parts, wood parts, hardwoods & plywoods, etc. Each supplier has their own page with useful information, such as Website, location, if they offer international shipping, and an area for additional information customers may find useful. (Shop owners: Add a promo code for an SSV discount so they can track much traffic SSV has sent their way.) And most importantly, it has an area for comments/reviews. So if you have bought a pattern with a supplier, share your experiences with the rest of us. Suppliers list is located under the Resources tab. Check out our growing list. If you don't see your favorite supplier listed, add it by clicking the green button that says "Add new supplier" (Be sure to double-check to make sure it's not there already. We don't want double entries.) If there's missing or wrong information on the supplier's listing, please change change it by clicking the "Update Shop Information" button on that supplier's page. And one last note, many suppliers also offer patterns. If a supplier ONLY offers patterns, please add it to the Pattern Shops list instead. This list is for those who offer scroll saw supplies. Anyway, I hope y'all find this useful. Enjoy!

I bought some Pegas brand scroll saw blades. When I ordered, they were shipped from Canada. But it was really fast shipping and received them in 2-3 days. Great experience.
  15. The wax is to stabilize the moisture in the block. Quick changes in humidity will crack the wood, especially if it's being transported from other countries. Its pretty common practice with turning blanks. 4x4x2 sounds like a bowl blank size. With woodturning, that would get cut away during shaping. Not sure about with scroll sawing. I'd try scraping it with a putty knife then sanding. See if that helps. Maybe heat gun and paper towels. But I'd be afraid the wax would seep into the pours.
  16. Howdy All. Awhile back, I changed the membership payment processor from PayPal to Stripe. While Stripe is much easier and works better with our software, many folks still prefered PayPal. So I brought it back. PayPal now supports recurring payments, which is nice. So you have a default option of auto-renewing your subscription at the end of the term. (Stripe auto-renews automatically). Now when you check out, you can choose to use either PayPal or Stripe. A couple of notes if you use PayPal. Upgrading and downgrading supporter options is a bit trickier. Basically, you have to cancel one membership in order to buy the other. There's a couple of other quirks too, that don't apply to SSV at this time. Just let me know if you run into trouble. I'm happy to help out.
  17. Both good and bad are welcome.
  18. Huh. Strange. I got mine in 2 or 3 days.
