  1. Great idea Travis...........I hadn't thought of Itsy but it is a great place! It's been many years since I did craft shows............but it was always so much fun. Thanks so much everyone for sharing! Christina
  2. I haven't cut enough to have a preference yet. However I really love the look of the animal portraits I've seen as well as the functional patterns.............shelves, boxes, etc... So I'm probably going to be more inclined towards those kinds of cuttings. Great thread Clayton! Christina
  3. I actually think I've seen some of these.........but not sure. I love the info you have provided and would love to see some of your work in this wood if you are able to find the pics. Thanks so much for sharing these with us Blame! Christina
  4. Way cool Blame........thanks for sharing these with us. Good info to look up for anyone wanting to learn their trees! I love the shape of those leaves............hmmmmmmm! Christina
  5. Woohoo and now the fun begins! Come on folks let's make this an extra fun challenge! Thanks Travis. Christina
  6. LOL Travis........I won't ask! I had the name wrong though..........It's Fray Chek. And if it's cloth backed sandpaper it might work. I agree that on sand PAPER it might harden too much. I'll have to get some and try it on scrap wood...........I have lots of that Thanks Deb for sharing your experience with us. I just have to try this!!! Christina
  7. Thanks for joining us.............you'll love it here. Everyone is really friendly and nice. Jump right in and have some fun. There's lots to see here. I hope you will introduce yourself............we love getting to know new friends. And I hope you'll share some of your work with us............we love to see the goodies! Christina
  8. What a wonderful story GrampedStl.......thanks for sharing it with us. He sounds like a real treasure..........especially to a young kid just learning! Clayton..........Blame......OUCH! OMGoodness I know that had to hurt! The worst I've done so far is to forget to tighten the tension on the blade and the blade broke and scared the crapola out of me! But I'm sure I'll do much worse eventually. Christina
  9. I buy it ready to go.....I don't have the equipment to do it myself. But boy it would be nice! Christina
  10. I love the smell of wood too.......it's wonderful! Especially aromatic cedar......omgoodness I just can't smell that enough! I have only cut metal by hand.........haven't tried it on the scrollsaw yet. I do like cutting acrylic too.........cuts like butter and looks beautiful when sanded.........like frosted glass. I learned that from Gayle on TSC. Christina
  11. Media to cut? Wood........acrylic.........corian...........something else? Why do you like cutting it the best? Christina
  12. What is the absolute most idiotic thing you have ever done? What was the result? Come on share...........I'd love to hear some funny stories! Christina
  13. And what do you find are your best sellers for your area? I've not done any shows yet..........of course since I don't scroll worth beans yet. But others might benefit alot from your experience...........so come on y'all SHARE! Christina
  14. Yep Travis, I think so too.............not to mention helping you identify those you cut to use lol. I'd love to have a sawmill and planer some day. Christina
  15. Way cool update Deb.............this is turning out to be a really great thread. I'm wondering if you couldn't use something like fray stop (used in sewing to stop fabric from unraveling).......it's basically a thin glue that stops the fraying...........it soaks in. I'm thinking that might not interfere with the sandpaper itself since it's absorbed........and it might keep it from flying apart. Worth a try maybe. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Christina
  16. Thanks for the info Travis. Christina
  17. I couldn't see the video..............but it's because I'm dialup. I saw a thread on one of the forums where the guy got mad and chunked his saw across the room.............not a good thing lol. That's what I call really letting your stupid hang out! Christina
  18. You're quite welcome Paul...........and it's well deserved. I appreciate the kind comments! Christina

  20. Sorry I got your thread off topic..........but I sure appreciate the info. I have seen the trees with the bean pods just didn't know what they were. I guess I should invest in a good book to help me ID mine lol. Thanks again. Christina
  21. You are sooo great............thanks so much for posting the pics and the link. Looks like really beautiful trees. We have loads of Osage Orange around here.............didn't know what that was either. I've only ever heard them called horse apple trees lol. I appreciate you! Christina
