  1. This is a very interesting thread to me lololol.............because I really hate my Rigid! I want to get a new one............when I can afford it but not sure what kind. I'd love to get an Excaliber or Dewalt.............but I can't see me being able to afford that any time soon! But I have thought about a Craftsman or Dremel.............which do you think is better? Christina
  2. I had planned to do just that but due to becoming pretty ill with pneumonia and the flu I didn't get much done. I made about 15 little cars that I donated to a local church charity.............and a couple for my niece and nephew (2 year old twin terrors). And I made a word art desk pen for my hubby's boss. I'm currently trying to get a photo album made as a belated Christmas gift for my mom with her and her dog's portrait on the front. Christina
  3. I have a Rigid 16".........a gift from my mom a few years ago when I expressed a desire to learn to scroll. But I didn't have room to use it. I moved here to OK and now I have room lol. Christina
  4. Wow that is a beautiful psaltery Lori! Some day when I'm much much older lolol........I hope to build a couple guitars. An acoustic electric for my hubby and a bass for my best friend who is a professional musician. I did a mountain scene painting on his bass a few years ago...........now I'd love to make the whole thing! Right now, on my saw is a project I've been trying to do since Thanksgiving! I created a pattern of my mom and her dog, Little Man, and I've been trying to get it made into a photo album for her. But I got pnuemonia and then the flu on top of that............leave it to me.........and it just never has gotten done yet. Hopefully soon. I just finished Steve Good's Eagle Clock...........my second one of these. The first was for my hubby and now he wants to give one to a friend at work. So... But I have so many things ready to cut. I just haven't had a chance to do them all yet. Christina
  5. I don't know either but who ever did it did a great job on it. And you did a great job on the cutting too! Love to see the goodies. Christina
  6. I use Paint Shop Pro X2 and Inkscape. But Gimp is supposed to be excellent to make patterns with............I haven't tried it yet. If I can figure it out I'm going to try to do a tutorial on it eventually. Also I've been told Kodak Easyshare is another good one for making patterns............and it's free. But, although I've downloaded it, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Picassa is supposed to be good too.............I think that's by google, not sure though. Christina
  7. I'm new here to SSV..........but many of you know me from other sites. For those who don't........my name is Christina and I live in Jennings, OK with my hubby and 9 birds, 5 dogs, 2 rats, 1 iguana...........and aaaaaa partridge in a pear treeeee lol. I'm just learning to scroll but I've been on the forums for several years now as a pattern maker. I really enjoy seeing everyone's work and I also really enjoy making and sharing patterns. I'm a crafter from way back so I do a bit of everything. I look forward to getting to know everyone here. Happy Days, Christina
