  1. Way cool Vector! Your's is soooo much better than mine is. I love that wood and the finish is just right. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. I think these little doodads would be great sellers at craft shows too and use such a tiny amount of wood and work up pretty quickly. Christina
  2. Wow Greasemonkey, this is definitely a gorgeous piece of art. You have out done yourself. I love your WIPs and hope you continue to do them for us. You really are very inspiring. I don't know how you manage to do all that you do when I know how much pain you have to deal with. I would love to see another poke chop WIP.........I think the giant bank idea is fabulous. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Christina
  3. OMGoodness Greasemonkey, how wonderful! These are really great friends and obviously they love your work and care a lot about you............how lucky you are my friend!!! Congratulations....you really are a very rich person with friends like these. Christina
  4. I haven't made but a couple ornaments so far. But I like the look of the hardwood for ornaments............but BB ply is much stronger. So I guess it's kind of a personal choice. I think if I were doing anything that has a lot of fragile areas I would stick with the BB ply. I've seen 1/8" BB ply on Ebay too. You can find some really great deals there. You can also click on the WoodDealsOnline.com banner at the top of the page.......you might be able to find it there easier. Christina
  5. I noticed several posts, but you got to them before I did. I'm glad to know it was only a few of them most recent ones. Technology is a wonderful thing when it works lol. At least it wasn't anything major. Christina
  6. Absolutely adorable Greasemonkey. You did a great job on Poke Chop in pink! Congrats on your sale too. Christina
  7. Beautiful work all the way around! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. I really love the box best too. Christina

Beautiful work! Your granddaughter and her two favorite teddies are going to just be thrilled with this bench. You did a great job on it. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Christina
  9. Woohoo Greasemonkey, Congrats! I'm so happy for you. I know what it's like to not be able to afford good tools...........shoot, tools at all lol. Enjoy your new toy. Christina
  10. Your tree turned out awesome............you did a great job on them. Thanks so much for sharing them with us. Christina
  11. Yep, I'm pretty sure we all fit that one Jo lol............at least I hope so. Christina
  12. Welcome back Chris! We missed you. Christina
  13. That turned out awesome Juvy.........you did a great job on it! Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Christina
  14. Roflmbo.......y'all are nuts! These are too funny. Presto logs.......geez! LOL Thanks for the giggles. Christina
  15. You should be able to add your green dot card to your paypal account Greasemonkey and then you can transfer money from Paypal to your card...........just like you can to your bank account. I have a prepaid credit card I use too and that's what I do. I use Paypal for Ebay too. Christina
  16. Geez talk about horror stories..............y'all are giving me the willies! I'm glad to hear everything turned out okay and I know what NOT to do in the future!!! Christina
  17. Fabulous basket Marshall............you did a great job on it! Congrats on your well deserved ribbon too. Thanks so much for sharing your work and your award with us. Christina
  18. Yep Greasemonkey I agree with you on that sweet spot. I love my spirals and at first I had a great pile of broken blades too............but it didn't take me long to figure it out lol. I bought an old 13" Delta from my neighbor and it takes pinned blades only..........I use it when I need really straight cuts that I can't achieve with spirals. I'm the same MrJ. I use 2/0 spirals mostly and sometimes I use 1/0. I have fantastic control with these as opposed to the flat blades. When I use flat blades I can't cut circles or do curves well at all. Can't seem to keep them in line at all lol. I'm sure it's just me but geez! Now I don't make nearly as much designer firewood lololol. Christina
  19. That sounds perfect Vector! But be sure to leave it thicker in the center of the ring and taper to the edges like a metal ring would be. I think if it's a little thicker it will last longer. I took mine off and put it in my pocket to wash my hands.............well I forgot it was there and ended up breaking it lol. But it was really thin! Christina
  20. Fabulous work Greasemonkey. I think I like these the best of all. And your photos are improving! Thanks so much for sharing your work with us, I always love to see your work! Christina
  21. Wow Muleskinner those look awesome..........like them both! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. Christina
  22. Thanks for the kind words Greasemonkey, Firedkm and Marshall. Steve Good has patterns for all sizes on his site. But I didn't use a patten knowing it was just for me. I just drew a circle a little smaller than my ring size and cut it out and then cut a slightly larger circle around it...........should have been a little thicker though for strength. Then I sanded the inside to fit well and then started on the outside but knocking the edge off and rounding it. Took maybe and hour start to finish on 3 rings.......which if you have good sanding stuff like your dremel.........you can probably cut the time way down. I did all the sanding by hand. I'm thinking if you keep it to really hard woods and leave it a bit thicker it would last a long time........providing you only wear it like for dress. I'm afraid day to day stuff would probably ruin it pretty quickly. I found a couple sites online that make custom handmade wooden wedding rings and they cost hundreds of dollars each! I was amazed but apparently wood rings are really popular. So those of you who do shows might want to make a few and see how it goes........sure a great way to use up tiny pieces of scrap! I only wanted to do something I could do sitting on the couch ( have a cardboard flat I use to minimize the sawdust everywhere) since I couldn't sit at my saw due to my back pain. It was fun to do. Christina
  23. Fantastic cutting Mike............you did a great job on it. Kevin and Andy really are great pattern makers. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Christina
  24. Mr Dino is adorable Merlin! You did a great job on him and I bet your granddaughter loves him! Thanks so much for sharing him with us. Christina
  25. That's cool Greasemonkey. Good woodstoves are hard to come buy used around here and the new ones cost an arm and a leg.......hence the reason I don' t have one or two myself. Someday I hope. Christina
