  1. Great work from start to finish with Paul's pattern and a wonderful cutting. God Bless! Spirithorse
  2. Hi, Rockytime, I have cut a few compound patterns in pine and just use a #5 blade. Preferably a skip tooth to help remove the sawdust but, my main go-to blades are always a #5 Ultra Reverse. The packing tape also helps a lot. I slow the blade speed slightly and feed the block very slowly. Maybe you can still try at least one pine with a smaller blade while you wait to get your basswood. God Bless! Spirithorse
  3. I agree 100% with Wilson's reply. Thanks for sharing the link. Beautiful work! God Bless! Spirithorse
  4. Here is a simple pattern per your request description. I would probably enlarge it to about 15" wide. (Enlarge by 150 percent if your program uses percentages). One of the best woods for out-side would be cedar. I would probably use 1/2" cedar with a 1/4" Baltic Birch backer painted black. Then generously coat the entire project with a Spar Varnish. Good luck and God Bless! Spirithorse Oops! After posting, I see your request said HOT DOG not DOG BONE. Can you change the shape to a Hot Dog if that is what is preferred?
  5. You can be proud! Excellent job! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  6. Absolutely beautiful! I think part of your artistic ability is shown by the dimensions you used. I probably would have made the images larger, there-by possibly over-powering the project images for the sake of easier cutting. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

  14. Hi, Dave, Unfortunately, I could not get the video to play but, I am well aware of your talent. I'm not surprised that your sales were good because your work is museum quality. Too bad the show board took $350 of your bottom line. Keep up the good work and keep showing me your fantastic workmanship. God Bless! Spirithorse

  17. I originally planned to wait and see if these really work but, this challenge came up so, maybe other members want to try it also. You can buy these professionally made but, I just used scrap pine. Height about 5 3/4", Width about 4". 1/4" dowels abt 1 1/2" and mesh material to put cotton, dog hair, twine or other materials a Hummingbird can use to start a nest. I used the easy way out and just cut one side of the roof 3/4" longer than the other side to over-lap but, it could be miter cut.
