    Hi, Ray, I have the Chicago Electric 10" Compound Mitre saw from Harbor Freight and it is very accurate. I used it for a flag display case. It weighs in at about 32.56 pounds.     Nicely done! I wonder if you could position sections at 2" x 2" or so and extend the design to the size you wanted? Also, nice cutting to make the puzzle pieces interchangeable! God Bless! Spirithorse

    I can't answer what the intended designer's reason for the design was but, I think it's much easier than counter-sinking holes and screwing things together. I also agree with fredfret's answer that you have a choice of base or hanging the project. God Bless! Spirithorse
