  11. Well done! If this was my project, I would use a spar urethane but, thin it down by up to 50% with mineral spirits or paint thinner. I happened to find this thread about a simple way to apply the finish that may help you also. https://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/articles/a-better-way-to-apply-spar-urethane/ The polyurethane may amber over time but, since your project has a weathered look, I don't think it will matter at all. Also, since the poly is thinned down so much, I don't think the amber will be as noticeable either. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  12. Greetings, Steve Good has a similar pattern here http://www.stevedgood.com/bookends.pdf but, it is not a compound cut/3D pattern. God Bless! Spirithorse
  13. Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  14. Fantastic work! One detail that came to my mind was, if I had cut this, I probably would have centered each line of the next. It's fine the way it is and I am not being critical; that is just a thought that you may not have considered and may be a grain for thought if you do other projects with text like this ons. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  15. Great cutting job and the stain really changes the appearance in a favorable way. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  16. Congratulations on the orders! I hope you get well paid for your time, hard work, and creativity. Thanks for the reply on the dimensions, etc. God Bless! Spirithorse
  17. That looks awesome but, you didn't give us much information and old people like myself sometimes can't see a lot from the images. Is it mostly over-lay and painted backers? What size did you make it? Thanks for any added details and thanks for sharing the pic. God Bless! Spirithorse
  18. Just out of curiosity, was the blade rubbing the insert? I do agree that, if you are having problems and it is under warranty, I would return it. Hopefully you can get a replacement fairly quickly if you want the Porter Cable but, other scrollers seem pretty happy with the DeWalts or Deltas. Just like everything else though, not everybody is satisfied with one or the other. Too many variables to compare one saw to another on every point. God Bless! Spirithorse
  19. Hi, Jason, From what I can see on the video, it looks to me like the back side of the blade is rubbing the plastic insert. Take that plate off and run the saw with-out it for a few seconds and see if the squeak is gone. God Bless! Spirithorse
  20. Welcome to the forum, Jason, It sure doesn't take long to become addicted to the scroll saw and saw dust does it? Looking forward to seeing some of your projects. God Bless! Spirithorse
  21. Nice work! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  22. Fantastic work! A few people have stated that no matter what pattern, it's still just one cut at a time so don't be intimidated by a title like intermediate or advanced. You can certainly do the advanced patterns at this stage. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  23. Congratulations, Frank, Glad to hear you are recovering well. God Bless! Spirithorse
  24. Welcome, Rohn, You are definitely in the right place to share conversation and knowledge. I hope you get the scroll saw of your choice soon and show us what you are up to. God Bless! Spirithorse
