Congrats on the new saw. I have just seen the Porter Cable saws advertised at Lowe's and want to look at one in person to see if I am interested in adding one to my small shop area. Ease of blade change and price are my main two criteria at the moment. God Bless! Spirithrose

Hi, Brenda, It's funny you should post this today because just last night I had a project that I had put off for quite a while. Not a customer order or anything but, I liked the project, wanted to cut it, and got tired of seeing it on the bench waiting for me. So, it seemed like I was counting every cut to see how much longer before I finished it. I was lucky and did not trash the project but, I know I could have done a slightly better job if my mind had been in the right mind-set instead of just wanting to get it off the work bench. Sorry you will have to start over but, as the replies here show, we have all made similar poor decisions. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

Hi, Kevin, Are you wearing any hearing protection while using the saw with or without the dust collection? I would think that option would make a huge difference in protecting your hearing with any dust collection system you may find. God Bless! Spirithorse

Nice experiment and nice cutting, Dick, I also like the two colored basket very much. As for the edge grain, that would probably take on an entirely different look if sprayed or dipped with some type of finish. Just a thought. God Bless! Spirithorse

I have always used rattle can sprays and have used several types such as Deft (can't find that locally anymore), Minwax polyurethane, Krylon Clear, Rustoleum Polyurethane, and the last two cans I bought were Rustoleum Crystal Clear Enamel. I seem to get the same results with any of those brands so, if you choose to try any of those, I suppose you can just let the price be your guide! Just follow the directions and apply thin, even coats and two coats should be enough protection for ornaments. God Bless! Spirithorse
