  1. Nicely done Pete, I think you should paint the backer for your Irish cutting green. Rather than painting or staining the cutting green. Len
  2. Nicely done Clayton, I never think to use mahogany for my projects. Len
  3. Mimi, I hope you don't mind me asking, but, how much did Keith charge you for this pattern? Nice cutting by the way! Len
  4. Nicely done. Len
  5. Three fantastic pieces Dan, they all look nice. Len
  6. Jim, for a first, I think that you did a great job. Len
  7. Jerry, that's great service. Len
  8. Charley, thanks for posting this, I think that maybe I'll give it a try. Len
  9. Woodduck, with vicious heat like that, it's a wonder that the spray can didn't explode in your hand. Your going to have to stockpile things, until you get cooler weather. Len
  10. Cute puzzle, what size is it? Len
  11. Wade, it's a great album, you have a great selection to choose from. I have to admit though, that Pheasant one is really something else, amazing! Len
  12. Ron, that looks fantastic, almost to nice to be considered a toy. Len
  13. When buying from Mike, you could order by the dozen, or by the gross. Now that it's owned by WTB, I don't know if it's the same as it used to be. Len
  14. Thanks to all who have replied to my query, your responses have covered all the bases. And believe it or not, your responses were exactly what I was thinking needed to be done to get into the market. It's just since I've never tried selling on the internet, I wasn't sure of what would be the best way to go about it. I feel better now about what I've been telling the pattern owner, I didn't want to pass on bad info. The particular person I'm talking about is a member of this forum, his patterns are very nice I've already purchased a quite a few of them. He has posted many times pictures of his work here, and he usually gets all positive replies. The pattern maker I'm speaking of is Helmut Hurtich, and he needs to find places to sell his patterns. He has had a bit of bad luck, and any sales will really help him out. If you check out his postings where he displays his work, usually there's a link to get into contact with him personally. Or, you can contact him at, helmuthurtichatgmail.com. He has his patterns in PDF form, and will e-mail them to you right away. The only wait is related to the time changes, he has to sleep sometime. Sometimes, it can be a bit hard to understand what he means, he's German and he uses a computer translator to converse. We all know how they work, sometimes the wording is not quite what you might want it to be. Thanks again for replying, it's really appreciated. Len
  15. Merlin, congrats on getting the new bandsaw, owning it should makes things easier. Be cautious when using it, they are a lot more viscous than a scroll saw. Len
  16. Hello, I'm trying to find a few good locations or ideas on where to sell patterns? They are not my patterns, I would be selling them for another person. Do you think that I would be better setting up a site to sell them from, or, is selling them on Facebook or Etsy the way to go? Any ideas? Len
  17. Well Dick, for just starting this type of work, I think that you've done a fantastic job. The only issue with the baby crawling, is the drill hole. And I don't know what happened to half of the butterfly, but, one half looks to be a perfect fit. Personally, I think that the butterfly is salvageable. You've got nothing to lose by trying to save it, other than a bit of time. Len
  18. Well Dick, the old saying about try try try again seems to be apt for this posting. Do you have any pics of what your trying to accomplish? If we could see it, maybe we could help you figure it out. Len
  19. Wade, that's a fantastic bit of cutting, you definitely did his pattern up right. Len
  20. Way to go Frank, that is a great idea for a stand. It can be very disheartening when sales are slow, but, I admire your stick to it attitude. Hopefully sales will pick up for Easter, now can be a hard time of year to sell scrollwork. Hang in there buddy. Len
  21. Mike, it's a good looking piece, have you checked to see what it would look like with a backer? Len
  22. Nicely done Ralph, it should look fantastic once framed. Len
  23. Bobby, all three pieces look fantastic, but, what's going on with your dad? I hope it's nothing to serious, parents can be a handfull when they get old. The time you spent cutting these, must have been a bit therapeutic. Thanks for sharing these three pieces with us. Len
  24. Paul, I missed these, they all look fantastic. They are good sellers around here, can hardly make enough of them. Do you ever buy the mushroom type birds for these, I used to, but, they're very expensive. I would like to find someplace to buy them at, at a reasonable price. Len
  25. They're cute Marg, but, must be real tedious cutting something that small. Len
