  1. Years ago I went to one of the SAW shows in Missouri. It was quite fun, but I keep having other things come up for the Iowa show. I am fairly sure that the Iowa show is put on by the same people who did the one in Platteville, WI Show Info FYI - Friday and Saturday August 2 & 3 - https://midwesttradeshow.com/
  2. My niece is coming to spend a week later on July. I am preparing by getting a few things cut that we will paint. She requested unicorns. We will do some cutting together while she is here, but it will be some simpler pieces
  3. I have a brother laser printer and I love it. I have only had to replace the toner cartridge a few times in the 3 or 4 years that I have had it. I only have a black and white one, and only a few rare occations have wished for a color printer.
  4. Hardboard, is high density fiberbord (MDF is medium density) it is created with higher heat and pressure resulting in the darker color compaired to MDF. I have only found it in 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses. I use hardboard for a few things around the shop. I have kids use it at school for practice scrolling because it is cheap. The top surface paints well, kids like that also. I use it often for making templates that will be traced. I also use it as the back of picture frames when we make frames at school. I don't specifically remember a time when I used it as a backer for a scrolled piece, but I think it would work just fine.
  5. I was babysitting one of my nephews. We did get a little shop time making some cutouts for him to decorate. Ended up with "the greatest Godzilla set of all!".
  6. You are going to get me bonus points for his birthday this year!
  7. Really cool! My husband is a Star Wars geek, he would love this hanging on his wall.
  8. another awesome piece!
  9. Wow, that is beautiful!
  10. It really depends. I buy many of the frames that I use and keep the glass with the frame. Mostly I don't know what else I would do with the glass so I use it. If I make my own frame or buy one with out glass I don't use any.
  11. the leaf cutout on the base really sets this apart.
  12. beautiful cut, it will be treasured.
  13. such a cute cut. you did a great job on that one.
  14. There are some really cool alternatives to guest books. For my wedding I cut out various heart shapes and had guests sign them. I then mounted the hearts to piece of wood with some lovey saying with the date. I did a similar one for a friend with leaves and a tree cutout.
  15. I like the style of clock. The square with an inset round piece is a neat look.

  20. I like your improvised scrap bases, I had noticed it on one of your other signs. They give another dimension and interest to the desk signs.
  21. I don't recognize the symbol, but it looks like you did a great job on it. The poke-ball will look great when you get it painted up!
