I have been commissioned to make crosses for a nursing home where my cousin works......they give a cross to each family when their loved one passes away......last year they had 87 deaths.......here's the 1st one.....8"T .......plain ole common pine burned with torch.......quick & easy to make......they just put in their 1st order on ten......

I will be starting a new job in a couple weeks that is 12 hr rotating shifts......it may cut into my shop time, but with this schedule I will only work 6 mo. out of 12........time will tell.

The practice I gave her was I drew some straight lines on scrap wood and also drew a radius from a spray paint can And had her cut those to get comfortable

About a month ago my daughter came to me and said she had a college project......she had to pick something new, research the history of it, & actually do it.....she chose scroll sawing!! She waited til last minute to do it, her project was due today.....but after 5 hrs in the shop yesterday here is what she did......the smaller ones were practice.......btw her college professor's name is a "Smith" also.....brownie points lol.....all 1/2" sanded plywood.....spray painted.....wire hanger on all 4.....I think she did awesome!! Proud Dad!!

Finishing up my 2017 ornaments, I wasn't sure if I should stack cut these to save time.....I decided to time myself......not worth stack cutting when you can cut one in under 5 min.....IMO
