  1. This seems to be common since this is the third time it's come up. Try this https://blogspot.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fa6b059408ca051b3a85dce6b&id=41aee3cf07&e=e151848253.
  2. Been there Don. This is probably what you are looking for: https://www.rockler.com/diamond-hone-sharpening-set. Not too bad of a price but you may be able to find them cheaper at other stores.
  3. Welcome from Ohio! I also turn pens, and dishes for the granddaughters. For a while I was incorporating scroll work in pen turning.
  4. Ray, where's the pics? LOL I've done some carving but just to learn a bit about how much I'm not an artist. I plan to get into carving when I retire (I thought I was but guess it wasn't in the plans). @DickMira does some great work but I think he uses a power carver or rotary tool to add more dimension to his projects. I'd love to see what others contribute here.
  5. Hold down? Oh, yeah, where did I put that thing? Haven't used one in over 20 years.
  6. Nice work. I always call scrolling my therapy. Thanks for your service.
  7. Nice cutting. It's ironic that you showed this. My wife just found a light bulb she bought years ago. It is filled with foil and was used by the U.S. military during WWII as a strobe light for night photograph. That bulb is huge and very interesting.
  8. Oh...and welcome to the Village!
  9. If you go here http://www.rbiwoodtools.com/WebsitePages/Scroll-Saw-Manuals.html they have a list of manuals based on your saw's serial number. They have a troubleshooting guide in the manual that may be a good place to start. Good luck.
  10. Phew! I thought my floaters were back.
  11. Merry Christmas to everyone in The Village! I pray for health and happiness to all in 2023.
  12. Awesome! Is it your pattern?
  13. Welcome back!
  14. Sweet. I love spider wort when it's blooming. I need to make more jigsaw puzzles. Carter Johnson (deceased) use to make puzzles from postage stamps. There were 9 pieces on a first class stamp. The whole puzzle fit into a match box.
  15. Well, I sure hope you heal well. In the meantime, lurking is good too.

    Coat Hanger

I was thinking something else. But I won't say as I don't want to get kick out of the village.

    Coat Hanger

I sanded a flat spot on the back and drilled 2 pilot holes. #6 wood screws seem to work well.
  18. I think it's been 83 years since I last posted some work. I did this on a whim. The deer silhouette is walnut finished in BLO/MS mix and the antler is from a white-tailed deer. I plan to use button pegs to cover the screws. Sorry for the crappy photo, I'm out of practice.
  19. Welcome from Ohio!
  20. I prefer using wire. I use these hangers (see photo) that lay flat against the project. I use one on the left side and one on the right, then attach the wire to them. The main reason is that some of my projects are not center-balanced and I have had some issues with sawtooth hangers not holding the work level enough for me. With the wire, it is very easy to hang the work level. Also, I don't like things to mark up the wall, so I add either felt or rubber pads to the work. I usually get the work hung so all four pads are touching the wall and this is how I keep the work flat to the wall. The small gap is not very noticeable. There, I spent my 2¢ for the day.
  21. I agree with Frank. There are some fonts that look better with only one bridge and the letters would flow better with just one bridge. If you need a stencil font and use the right font that program will work. I actually enjoy adding bridges as needed to make the letters look the most pleasing I possibly can.
  22. I ordered from them once, years ago, and had the same issue.
  23. On the 12th day of Christmas my scroll friends gave to me, 12 sheets of plywood, 11 rolls of tape, 10 sheets of sandpaper, 9 easy patterns, 8 assorted drill bits, 7 mini clamps, 6 cans of poly, 5 scroll saw blades, 4 bottles of glue, 3 boards of oak, 2 ear plugs, and shout out to the Scroll Saw Village.
  24. Welcome to the village from Ohio!
