  1. Nice work. I love making those pocket knives (I call them letter openers at craft shows). They drew a lot of attention, of course.
  2. Both look great!

    Colt 45

Looks great! At first I thought you inviting us for a drink. But I suppose you shouldn't mix the two. Have a great day!
  4. My experience is no, it doesn't matter if the material is slightly larger. Of course, that means you may be cutting through more material than you need to which can cause the blade to wear faster and if you push too hard it could be difficult to remove your gem on the inside. The important thing is to make sure the pattern halves are lined up at the same corner, otherwise, like Roberta said, it will be not as expected. This is all assuming you are talking about a pattern that is 1" x 1" x 6".
  5. Welcome from Ohio! Nice display of work.
  6. I had problems doing intarsia but only on the corners. I didn't realized the problems until I started making puzzles. Side to side alignment was fine. My saw was designed for an aggressive cut and there was a bit more front to back movement of the blade and with thick stock there was a significant angle on the corners only. I shimmed up the back of the table until the front to back movement was negligeable. Now my puzzles cut very accurately. I need to try some intarsia again. And before you ask, yes I did adjust the blade clamp first. Lol
  7. Nice idea. I could have used those about 40 years ago. Took a swig of a Coke and spit out 2 yellow jackets. Ever since then I always cover my soda when outdoors.
  8. Yes, slightly. I could rig up a brace or shelf to put under it but I'll wait to see what I do when I move it to the garage. It does cut down on noise without the dust collector running and it's easy to empty.
  9. I currently can't get close enough to the dust collector so I just attached some elbow and attached a dust collector bag to it. It does a great job. When our garage is built I'll move the shop out of the basement and have a better set up, but this is working great for me. It's out of the way and collects the waste.
  10. Excellent! I love the font, too.
  11. Great idea Don. It could use a cup holder though, you know, for beer or tea or whatever you partake in.
  12. Nice job Don. When I first read the title I thought it said "Glass Eye Holder" and I was curious of what you would come up with. When I saw the picture I realized my dyslexia must have kicked in. Nice "Eye Glass Holder".
  13. Welcome to the Village Dave.

    Hi From UK

    Welcome to the Village Tony.
  15. The boards looks great and the food delicious! What more can one want?
  16. Happy Easter!
  17. I stand corrected. On this video he is using self-adhesive, full-page labels. I hope this solves the mystery.
  18. At one time he was just spraying adhesive on the wood then attaching the pattern.
  19. I use E_Z Bond cyanoacrylate for pen finishing. One thing with CA is that moisture in the air will cause it to set up. It takes a while but if you don't seal it with the provided cap it will harden after a few weeks to a month. I have some thin CA that is now the consistency of thick CA. Useless. If course it's been on the bench, half full, for about 4 months. You can store unopened bottles in a refrigerator and it will keep for years, in my experience. I also have used Loctite and several other brands with good results. As for accelerators, they contain acetone, ethyl alcohol, and other ingredients. The reaction between the accelerator and CA is less than a second so don't get the CA on your fingers if you are using accelerator. The reaction can cause nasty burns. Avoid trying water as it will make a mess and doesn't act as an accelerator.
  20. Beautiful! Will make great ornaments.
  21. Nice and cheery! Love the colors you chose.
  22. Fantastic!
  23. Hello and welcome from Ohio!
  24. Kevin, fold the legs in. When the table goes down the blade should be about right. LOL Did you buy it on April 1?
  25. Love that crazy grain! The project turned out great!
