  1. These are addictive. I've started doing more shaping of the birds but those guys are tiny and difficult to hold. I'm not great at painting but I hope to improve. I give them to my wife for Brownie points.
  2. Very nice work. I've no idea who he is, though.
  3. Welcome to The Village! My second project with a scroll saw, about 15 years ago, was an intarsia design by Judy Roberts. She has put out several books for beginners and beyond.
  4. The splash of color really sets it off. Great job.
  5. Congrats on getting published and the great surprise. Now, get to work on some of those projects!
  6. I love the painted cabin. Please pass on congrats to Jan for a terrific job. Oh, and great job cutting, of course.
  7. The splash of color is great. I'm not a cat person but I like the puzzle.
  8. I agree with Dave. I thought it was turned. Great job!
  9. You'll be cranking out patterns before you know it.
  10. These are the last of the group. Thanks for the bobcat pattern ekud1946. When I was making the last cut the saw crapped out. One of the linkage bearings went out. Had to locate some locally. I purchased extras to have on hand. Saw is up and running again.
  11. Blue ribbon work there Dave. Outstanding!
  12. Welcome from Ohio.
  13. Excellent as always Jim! I love your designs.
  14. If you're painting the front of the backer I'd do as Katie suggested. If you plan to stain it or leave it natural I'd do as Brian suggested.
  15. Excellent signs!
  16. Welcome to The Village Philip. Nice work. I guess you like clocks. I guess we are neighbors, well, sort of. I'm about 100 miles to the southwest in Clermont County. And congratulations on the new saw. I started with a Craftsman and when I upgraded, boy what a different. Enjoy your new saw and happy scrolling.
  17. Cool!
  18. I bought a poplar board at Menard's two years ago because of all the colors including purple. Haven't seen any since but I also haven't been looking.
  19. Excellent and you are right about the blue pine. The cutting is impressive enough but your choice of frame wood sets it off wonderfully.
  20. Last year I started with General. I'd go down the list skipping a few such as Intarsia. A few weeks ago I opened Intarsia and was amazed at how much I missed. Now I start at the top and check each section for unread topics. I will admit (guilty) that some posts seem to be "more of the same" and I will only occasionally read those. Unfortunately the mobile site doesn't seem to provide an unread topics button. Oh, if I'm short on time I jump right to the Coffee House to see if Jerry or Paul, aka save the beer, has posted.
  21. Beautiful angel! It amazing what you can find in a 2 x 4. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Fantastic! Is the white holly or aspen?

It looks like Scott lit the fire for many of us. But, let's not forget Jim Sweet and his Woodimals. He got me started over 10 years ago with his Moose puzzle. And Dave and Judy Peterson have several puzzle books with instructions to help get started. So thanks to all puzzleheads for an addictive hobby.

A local park's nature center has an activity room for kids. They have other item and this fits right in with their theme of local animals. I'll probably take them there next week.
  25. Welcome to the Village Erv!
