  1. Jerry, when the print dialog comes up (where you can select the page number, number of copies, etc) there's a check box at the bottom that says "Fit to Page". Make sure that box is NOT checked. That may be the issue.
  2. I have dust collection and I wear a dust mask when on the scroll saw. That being said, I believe all the safety gizmos out there are probably overkill for many. I grew up mowing lawns for about 4 years and spent 2 years working where air tools were use most of the day. I never wore hearing protection and my hearing is just as good as it was as a kid. For someone else, that may have done much more damage. Adhering to good safety practices will help most, if not all, of us. Not adhering to them will harm some, but probably not all, of us. OSHA provides regulations that should be enforced in the workplace, but at home the choice is yours.
  3. Another fine job Dick. Yes, try green or red background and post again. ☺
  4. Those are fantastic! How big are they?
  5. Wow! Those are great. I love the splash of color.

    Hello

Welcome to The Village Rodney! I'm just a 2-hour drive down I75. I, too, started with a 16" Craftsman. Lubrication or adjustment should take care of the squeak.

    I love the detail Randy!
  9. Jerry, is that the LED lamp? I don't have one but I hear those are fantastic and at that price, you can't beat it.
  10. Wow! Great job.
  11. Excellent Helmut! I love these things you dream up.
  12. Great pattern Casey!
  13. Thanks for sharing this. Great work Wolfgang.
  14. Nice sampling of your work. If I wasn't into scrolling you would have sold me on the hobby.
  15. Well, I started cutting the log but it was so wet that it was bogging down the bandsaw. Sorry,no pictures yet but the wood is not as dark as I thought, although it may darken over time. The purple unicorns kept getting in my was. Just kidding. I guess I'll dry the rest as a log and try cutting it next year.
  16. The tree was small, about 20 feet tall. There's only about 5 feet of useful trunk to cut. I hope to get at least a 1" x 5" board and two 1" x 3" boards. The color is close to walnut but may be darker. I can only see the end grain right now.
  17. No plans yet. I want to see what the color and grain look like first.
  18. I cut down a white mulberry (Asian variety) that was growing in my yard it was about 6 inches in diameter. It has nice dark brown heartwood so why not use it. I sealed the ends and put it in the basement to dry. I noticed some drops on the floor today. Seems the mulberry is very wet and dripping. I think I'll rip some small boards tomorrow and put them on my drying rack.
  19. Nice group of pen. I love the angels.
  20. Tony, take it to the next level and add scroll work to you pens.
  21. I like it Monti. It was hard to read at first, but once I read it it was easier. You could make one out of light colored wood and do some painting.

Don, I could not find the pattern in the gallery. My desktop PC crashed so I can't get to my patterns. When I get it repaired I'll post the pattern.
