Not really a tool but you can never have too much overhead lighting.

Never heard of it but this is what Wikipedia has to say: Japan drier is a common lay term and generic product name for any oil drying agent that can be mixed with drying oils such as boiled linseed oil and alkyd resin paints to speed up "drying". The name refers to "japanning", a term for the use of drying oils as an imitation or substitution for urushiol based Japanese lacquer. Dan, sounds like you are right on the money.

I am slowly replacing CFL bulbs with LED bulbs throughout the house. I just bought a 4-foot LED shop light for, well, my shop. I love it. It cost $35 but it sure is bright. It's only 40 watts but puts out bright white light (4500K). My fluorescent shop light bulbs are only lasting a few years. The LED is guaranteed for 15 years.

I found spray cans of Teflon on Amazon for under $10. I think I'll order a can and give it a try. Some of the reviews say you can use it on your saw table.

I just read about someone having their scroll saw table Teflon coated. It cost them $25 ten years ago and he says he never has issues and never has to wax it. Sounds like a pretty slick idea, pun intended. Has anyone looked into this? Inquiring minds want to know.

That is amazing Marg! You have turned that small piece of silver into a treasure. Do you do much sanding on the edges? It looks so finished, more than a scroll saw can do.
