Great pattern Dick! The font is beautiful and looks great scrolled. Lower case e's are a pain also. I keep a glue stick handy. When patterns are printed on multiple pages I join the pages with the glue stick before gluing to the wood.

Thanks everyone. Orangeman, the font is Arial Rounded Bold.the backer is 1/4" plywood. I painted the backer before gluing the two layers together. I colored the backing to match the letters to help him learn colors. He says green and yellow so maybe this will help with other colors. DW, ahh, good idea. I'm sure I'll be making more and will add the finger hole. Thanks for the tip.

A few weeks ago Dan (aka dansnow) did a couple of name puzzles. This inspired me to do one for my 2-1/2 year old grandson. He likes trucks and I wanted him to start spelling his name and this is what I came up with. It's 12" X 7", 1/4" BB ply. The letters are acrylic paints and the whole thing has several coats of poly. Lesson learned: The pieces fit well with a slight bit of play using a FD-UR #5 but next time I make one I'll use a #7 or #9 for a wider kerf. I'm not sure how well he will be able to put the letters in place. I'll find out later this week.

I agree with Paul... Make a base with the date. Although, with the wedding in May, you could just make another one with the date and see which looks better. I love the look of your project. Great job on the design. Ain't Inkscape fun?

I have a stool a lot like Paul's but it has arms. I like that it adjusts high enough for my saw. I actually found that I prefer the wheels as I can push away from the saw when cutting large pieces. But, as everyone says, it's your preference.

I was wondering the same thing. Travis wrote a little tutorial on how to do it. The only area you can post to is the New Pattern category. At some future time Travis will sort through things and put them in the right place.

I had an HP printer that had expensive cartridges. I tried to refill but the printer still said it was out of that color and wouldn't let me reset it. Apparently there is a code on each cartridge and once that has expired you could not refill and reuse. I guess they don't give the printers away for free because they do include 2 drops of each color and you have to pay for them. I may go with a laser next time.

When Mike ran the shop (Mike's Workshop) I would get the blades before I ordered them. I think Mike is working for Jimmy John's now. Seriously though, that is some fast service. Good to see WTB is keeping up with Mike's standards.

Jim, great start. I like the script font but I would change the positions of the bridges like Jerry suggested. Here's where I would have put the bridges. See the red marks. I would also have made the white space around the script font larger. That makes the script a little more pronounced. Hope this helps.
