  1. I'm not a golfer but I love the plaque. The green backing really sets it off.
  2. I have not cut aluminum but I'm sure it's no trouble. Check with hotshot (aka Randy). He cuts a lot of coins and does some delicate work.
  3. I sit with the table a little below chest height. I should lower the table a little. I also have the table tilted toward me a few degrees.

Yes, great job on all of them. I really like the one of your uncle and, I assume, your aunt.
  5. Yes lots of catalpa up here. We had two in our yard. Beautiful large flowers in late spring. The wood is very soft and will dent easily. The grain on your board is very nice. I can't wait to see what you turn it into.
  6. Great work Helmut.
  7. I love the way you displayed it. Did you make the pattern for the leaf?
  8. That's real nice Jim. I like the different fonts.
  9. I started thinking more about God today. I'm not sure why.

      What did you do???

  10. Super cool! You sure have the hang of them shells.
  11. Here's an example of intersecting word art. I used Travis' tutorial to figure out how to do it. As for the blade question, I think everyone has their way to figure it out. I use to go through blades a lot but something, not sure what, changed and now they seem to last a lot longer. I know if the blade breaks or doesn't cut I replace it.
  12. Nice pattern and idea for adding the background.
  13. Rob, that came out fantastic! The purpleheart is a great contrast.

Nice work. I that your pattern?
  15. Fantastic work Ron. It's so clean and has a great finish.
  16. Great project you have going there. As for the font, put the bridges near and parallel to an adjoining line. This seems to hide the break more. Do you think the magnets are strong enough?
  17. Those came out great! Now to save some $$ to buy more wood to make some for my grandkids.
  18. Very excellent!
  19. Paul (Fab4) I think you're on to something.
  20. Take examples of the various types of work done on a scroll saw: fretwork, intarsia, puzzles, etc. If you don't have many examples show some photos of other people's work.
  21. My wife uses a sticky note on the dishwasher when the dishes are clean. When Roly posted his magnet the other day I said, "He's on to something." It never hurts to earn some brownie points with the wife. The core is 1/4" BB ply. I dyed one side red and one side blue. I drilled two holes for the neodymium magnets to set in. The outside is 1/32" BB ply and cover the magnets. Wifey is working right now so this will be a surprise for her. If I make more I will try using 1/8" for the core to make it sleeker. If anyone wants the pattern let me know and I'll post it.
  22. Nice job. What I like about these trivets is when not in use they make great kitchen wall decorations.
  23. That is a perfect frame for your leaf. Good job all around. Did you make the frame also?
  24. Great idea. I love when people solve their own problems and pass the info on to others. Thanks for sharing.
  25. Oh yeah!! Ride 'em cowboys.
