  2. That came out nice
  3. Well here is my rendition of Sue Mey's Multilayered Dragon Pattern. I chose to use Walnut, Satin, and Purpleheart on this with a Baltic Birch Ply backer. With the way this was done I put the hanger on with Epoxy. I once again used Danish Oil to finish it. I always balk at any of the other finishes but as usual the Danish Oil brought out the colors of the Purpleheart and the S

  5. Just the way the shadows fell.
  6. My latest project is done. the pattern is in the library. Feel free to use the pattern. I decided to paint the backer with multiple colors for different parts.Cut from poplar with natural danish oil for the finish.

  8. I have a lawyer and I also have video from two GoPro's one facing forward and the most important one facing backward. Kind of hard for her to dispute what happened. She can't even deny the cell phone usage. It is all on video. She did not brake nor turn to avoid. Just plowed right into me.

  10. Well I was surprised by winning the Blue Ribbon at the NC State Fair this year. As we all know we are overly critical of our own work. This is a Sue Mey Pattern available here: http://www.scrollsawartist.com/mermaid-with-crown.html This is cut on 1/8" baltic Birch Ply mounted on a Pine board. Finished with Natural Danish Oil on the ply and Golden Oak Danish Oil on the Pine. I have not been out to cut anything in over 4 months. I was riding my bicycle home from work on June 14th as I have done for the past 20 years and a woman driving her car and using her cell phone crashed into me from behind. I spent a day in the hospital with a broken collar bone and a broken shoulder blade. I am healed up now but still dealing with a frozen shoulder. Soon I will be back out cutting.
  11. As far as I know black is the current color they are done in. I bought mine from Seyco also. I do not believe there is a difference between them. I love the foot switch. I did not need the stand but it was cheaper then trying to get it without it. So the stand sits in the box. I will tell you the quality of my work has definitely improved with the Excalibur! Almost no vibration and such easy tool free blade changes. Front to back movement of the blade is nonexistent! I have not yet used the tilting head but I do now have a pattern that will use it. It is my next project up for cutting. I really love the way the saw stays up when you lift it also. The shape of the table. All in all I can't really say I have found anything I dislike about it.

  15. Well now that I have given out all my scrolled Christmas gifts I feel safe to post pictures of my stuff. I had some issues with one of them where I made a goof up had to get more wood and then found out the pattern had printed smaller then had to get more wood. When I was finally finished the panels I had redone where a slightly different shade and so I had to stain it much darker then I wanted to. In fact I never stain I just use natural danish oil when I finish so I was a little upset but I had no time to try and find the same shade of wood. Work was trying I ended up having to work an entire weekend on a network switch outage and I lost two crucial days and pretty much demanded two comp days of which I was able to get only one day off. But I was able to get everything done in time despite that. I was worried about the oil drying but it did.
  16. Very Nice
  17. I cut this one out and lost it to my Daughter. Apparently she was eyeing the work in progress as I was leisurely cutting it out. I finished this last night and she came home from college and that was it. She went back with it! Man I was hoping I would be able to take this one. Oh well that is how the cookie crumbles! I guess it is good to have people desire the work you do! Pattern is from Creative Woodworks and Crafts September 2010 issue designer is Jacob Fowler I cut this out of 1" pine with a Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse #3. Finish is Danish Oil Yes I found this pattern last month when I was going through the old magazines to see if there was anything I wanted to cut and when I saw it I remembered how I wanted to cut this one out but I felt my skills would just produce firewood so I just did not attempt it then. But 5 years later I thought hey I think I can do that now. So what do you think?
