  3. Hi people, have not done a lot of cutting lately, been playing with my new Toy (Laser/Engraver). So here is a cutting I did for the manager of our local Salvation Army Family Store. She loves Eagles so thought it was a great pattern, not sure where it came from so any one knows Thanks. The other pic is of the Laser engraved name and date and such could never do it by hand this nice...... Cheers Merlin..................

Hey Thanks Rob, have got it, Gordie could be right I might try the laser on those words, and when I have some more make the map an inlay.........Just thinking The laser was giving me a bit of a headache, but I think I have it beat, setting up a desktop computer at the moment, just got on line and working to the sounds of AC/DC.............

  13. Craig: Depends on the thickness, I cut a fret-cut plane a few years back and placed it between 2 pieces of mdf and used from memory a #3 FD polar blade. If its large you will have to pin/staple in a few waste area's ........merlin

  15. Nice setup Rob and a nice amount of dollars as well when I first started a number of years ago $200 was a dream, but our area people are not that well off and is very hard for them to part with there money................
  16. Ralph........I had about 1/8 mm hardboard and the LP record and cut with a#1FDUR blade.

  19. Thanks Guys n Gals, Boy was I surprised that cake toppers were made from MDF. I'm wondering if people that make toppers know what goes into MDF, cause they stated on one site to wrap the stick piece with tin-foil to stop the MDF from getting soggy. Merlin....................................
  20. Hey boys n girls I cut a cake topper from a vinyl record today, I taped a piece of hardboard as a backer, and used that cut out as a sort of box to keep it from breakage. Merlin................

  22. Rob and Joe Thanks for the help.........................I have found what I call close enough. Will post a picture tomorrow nite. I have some 3-4mm ply and I will also try an LP record...................To much crap in MDF and they actually use MDF for these things to stick into cakes.......Yuk Merlin................
  23. People please I need to make a cake topper for this Saturday. Can anyone give me an idea of the font used please. cake topper Has anyone used mdf for this type of cake topper, I'm thinking of ply. Cheers and thanks Merlin.................
