Hi Zena you have just purchased a beautiful saw, I have had one of these Carbatec saws now for bout 10 years.
all good no major problems, and all the Hegner parts are interchangeable with this saw.

Lovely work Dick...I live in NZ and I wood love to cut some Kauri that old only I'm too poor, But I do have a few pieces of recycled Kauri I will cut some day...
Well all I use is tape (blue green red pink with purple spots) on one side of the plexiglass/acrylic or whatever it's called and start cutting.
Never had any problem, just don't go like a bull at a gate slow is best....

Brenda as mentioned tap the bottom on the bench, never use the tip to spread the glue and my favorite (over years of glue clogging of any sort) Always stand the bottle/tube upright when not in use....
I even made a holder to sit the glue tubes in..Sorry no pics....
Alex all your patterns are great (wow) does not cover it...
I wood love to buy some of your patterns but I wood never be able to sell the finished product for the price of the pattern alone. Sorry
