  2. Hello muleskinner ,How have you been ,were all puttin our best foot forward hopen for the best .It's a tough bill to fill but we try. Welcome back . There's been so much interesting ting going on here in the club .I could'nt survive a day with out popin in to see what i've missed.amazing info come in all the time that will make you hair stand on end.one tid bit i'll share with you is one of our new members had sent a scroll sawn portrait of obama to the white house and recieved the united states presidential stamp of approval on a letter back to him ,signed seal and delieverd.you never know what will happen next. It's that exciting lately.WD made a box that was out of this world with his polished skills,on and on.don't change that channel sit right there and surf the forum for all there is .Scroll saw village is my bible per sa.welcome back MULESKINNER!
  3. He's gruff allright, looks like he has a lot of character.one of the most interesting looking intarsiad turkeys around.Your intarsia talent overhelms me.I"ll have to send an airbrushed hat saying "can do".Somebodys going to be very happy to recieve this bird.looks as though you out do yourself on every project.great job my friend!
  4. GRAMPA ,Gosh you made me blush That comment you gave me sent me straight to heaven. To tell you the truth i could'nt have done it with out you.Your the best. You have my condolances to keep on keepin on with all you do for our club. You set the standards for our work. I'm pretty sure that when the tatoo artist see what we made him ,his request,a parrot just like the pelicans i did, his hat will spin.I'm so glad you did it in detail.First impressions last and this is a goode.Gomer pyle would say thank you thank you thank you ,me too.I'm thinking that parrots would be a good seller here as there's lots of parrot shops. They are very beautyful birds but noisey so now you too can own a parrot ,a silent giant. It should fit in nicely at the shops .If you see more i'll do them ,full sized monsters. i'm going to have food on the table soon thanks to you. You've been a blessing to us.sincerly the amazingkevin
  5. Thanks CLAYTON, your comment was well recieved,i needed that today.
  6. grampa's parrot was done on cabinet backing board using "mike@mikesworkshop" blades, spirals with flat ends # 3 and # 5 .this is the first time i ever used the flat end spirals.I'm ruined for life .These blades made the over sized irregular sized piece a piece of cake to cut.there was no room to turn the project either as things are in the way .I would say that these spirals are the virtual reality of saw cutting. They cooperated at a whim of suggested direction. never have i had control of a scroll saw blade like this.i keep the blade over tight as greasemonkeyredneck does and everything worked as he said.spirals are his crem de la crem of blades he uses too.The parrot that grampa designed is breath takeing to look at .And when you hold it it,s is as lofty and feather weight just like a bird.It was a pleasure to cut .thankyou again GRAMPA.The parrot is 31" x 28" covered with thin gloss formica ,black.Only one piece blew out towards the end of the cutting .probably 5 hours of cutting .an hour of enlargeing the pattern ,pasteing it together applying it to the wood etc.The brown streak across the black towards the bottom of the parrot is particle board that this piece was glued to. I'll sand it or try lacqure thinner to remove it.mineral spirits and acetone did'nt phase it to try and soften it up.
  7. No comment
  8. That sould k eek a smile on the little darlings face awhile ,very nice modification ART.Your aways thinking. It's a terrible job but somebodys got to do my thinking for me ,lol i like the idea!!
  9. Thanks ART .Good one .Now find us a nice free wood inrarsia site! And i give you cookies and milk later! lol
  10. Hello JIM I, I like the simple clamping style you came up with.I have never wanted to use a dremil as a router simpley because dremils are very delicate light use tools.I only burnt out two in a quick second.Once because the locking mechanism button to change bits was stuck .So when i turned it on, the motor was locked and before i could turn it off the dremil was cooked. And then the second time was cutting a piece of flexable floor tile .I could'nt imagine the dremil cutting wood with a router bit, maybe cutting balsa wood with the router bit ,but i've never tryed it . whats your experience with it cutting wood and what kind of wood and which router bit.thanks.this is going to be much needed info as i'd like to rout edges on some of my work. :)What kind of scroll saw it that in the picture?
  11. Good question steven ,If you do use a vacumn like that i would get a long long hose and put in outside your shop .the noise it makes is nerve racking.I could not live with that noise around me.A swimming pool ,pool vacumn hose comes in 25" lenghts and thats what i would use, modified to fit the saw and vaccumn.
  12. HARRY,thats something else!great job !I'd like to know how thick and what kind of wood and what blade and teeth per inch you used.I've never seen a job done like this .It'looks like its all single pass lines, not to and fro to make a wide line.i gives me goose bumps to see for the first time a job like this. You got my wheels spinning now for other possibilites in scrolling i never thought of.Good job.i'm still trying to figure out how you did this.
  13. i'D LOVE TO COMMENT ON IT BUT CAN'T SEE WHAT IT IS.
  14. JASDON,FROM WHAT YOU TOLD US I LOOKED FOR YOUR SAW .iF THIS IS IT IT WILL BE A GOOD LEARNING SO SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU LIKE AND DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE SAW.LIGHTING ESAY BLADE CHANGES,FOOT SWITCH DUST COLLECTOR ETC.BLADE TENSTION IN THE BACK WEARS YOU OUT AND IS NOT DESIRERABLE BUT THAT WHAT I HAD FOR YEARS AND ENJOYED SCROLLING .KEEP POSTING AND YOU'LL GET DIFFERANT VEIWS FOR THE MEMBERS HERE THANKS FOR ASKING
  15. Hey Art,keep at it! That would be a treat to meet other scrollers.Even when i price my work at minimum wage per hour nobody still wants to part with the money even though they love what there seeing. But i thrive on the good comments too.i just did a pelican and i though ,you know ,two idendical pelicans would be a better selling gimmic so i stack cut them.Just thinking of ways to make things sell easyer. They want $250.00 to get into a show as a vender here.
  16. I enjoyed reading this post of your art and williams added comments,.How fast time flys.i do try not to leave the house aS I FOLLOW MY NOSE TO MUCH AND GET FURTHER AND FURTHER FROM HOME AND NOTHING GETS CUT,oop's hit the capitals again.i need to empty my small peice wood collection baddly .the 5 gallon cans eat up my tiny shop walking space.this post is a good reminder that the season is apon us.wish i had room to set up the other scroll saw for quick rips .My stencil collection is out of hand too, that i made for orders to save time of copying and downloading everytime i need something .Problem iwas thinking to big ,it never happened.Sue and Sheila have saved us so much time and thinking ,good girls!mmme too matt i cut what strikes me as great and i enjoy looking at it till it sells.Cjswoodcrafts never stops,he's busy as bees with shows ,holidays ,charities, gifts. He's got a handle on what sells .Great post guys ,i got to get moven in the right direction now ,thanks
  17. Hello JIM,say ,thats a nice added touch of signing your work.I might have to order one just to have the infamous signature of a scroller who scrolled for our President. That's worth something ,right? You allways chose the good good patterns to do. thats where the money is!Happy scrolling!
  18. Hey Steven ,I've had a lot of problems getting my hand to fit in to change the bottom blade, the hitachi cw40 is one, harbor freight another, sears, skill.when scrolling changing blades fast and threading them through work need to be easy to do as you spend alot of quick seconds doing so very offen depending on what your cutting. On keychains ,like on steve goods free download program which you need to get i do a letter every 20 seconds as an example.Make sure your blade sings like the skinny string of a guitar when plucked .thats the correct tenstion for the blades.they don't break as offern when that tight.Love your inquizitive post ,makes me think again too. You'all come back now, lol! P.S.It's amazing what you'll find on craigs list ,just make sure you enter scroll saw as two words in the search box ,one word comes up with nothing.Great deals there.
  19. temp tac ,photo repositional spray glues are the easyest clean up and use too. Was going to do a puzzle today and was going to try your blue paiters tape but did'nt have enough.puzzles have been a nightmare for removeing glue.iI glue the photo down with water base elmers and spray temp glue ,mineral spirt dissolveable on the photo and stick the puzzle cut pattern on the temp glue. got to be a better way as your picking each puzzle piece cut pattern of one at a time with a tweezers.85 piece 8" x 10" puzzle takes a while.Know any short cuts?
  20. Warm greetings Steven, glad you came to our friendly club.I lived next to the railroad viaduc in milw. for 12 years,.I to love short wave radio.took cw test and they sent so slow i had no idea when they started and stopped the next letter at 5 w.p.m. i learned at 20 w.p.m.so i flunked,go figure.love my kenwood ts430 and icom r7000.try not to start out with a scroll saw where you tighten the tenstion for the blade in the rear of the saw.reaching back there offen gets to be annoying.Get a foot switch to turn the machine on and off is a plus.Real good lighting is an extra plus.Make sure your on steve goods mailing list as he sends free patterns to you everyday, good ones too.A dremil 1830 is a nice starter scroll saw it's an 18''er.your right about the forum it is packed with valuable info .Everyday i learn something from it.Don't forget to post your work in the gallery when you start scrolling for us to eyeball.Again welcome and take your shoes off you found a good home here!
  21. welcome paul 44244 glad to have you here ,plenty of ohio'ins here make your self at home and enjoy the club.

  23. This ones got to brighten the mail persons day don't you think.I love it.Is that john in the drivers seat, lol ! You had your thinking cap on that day.I'm going to have to look at your gallery to see if i've missed anything. This tractor made my day and it's just started!
  24. FUNNY YOU WOULD MENTION MY FAVORITE COLOR .THAT SETTLES IT I'M PAINTING MY SAW YELLER THAT'ELL WORK !
  25. Matt How are you doin, And how are you doing such great work .You got a top notch scroll saw there or what!Fabulous cuttings ,great workmanship.you made them look too good like they were laser cut.Excellant choices of patterns to cut too.Your runnin on all cyclinders i can see, with maybe a little turbo in the mix.You got to get these in the user gallery for the world to see,as that probably the first place people look when they log on to see what's new.Your talent is exceptionally good.Keep them comein in.This is exciting to watch what newbies are bringing in to ssv.Good job!
