  6. Nice work Roger...I learned to drive on one of these when I was eight years old...Thanks for showning us.
  7. Just a thought on this, however. There are motor control units that will electronically adjust the speed of a motor - they're often sold for routers but there is no reason they won't work on other motors. If you bought one of these to use on your antique scroll saw, you could adjust the pulleys for the maximum speed you'll ever used and then slow down the motor electronically to the speed you want. I tried this on my AMT...It doesn't work unless it is a motor with brushes... the variable speed controler started smoking pretty bad
  8. Nice projects there Jim...thanks for showing us
  9. Thays a good idea with the Epoxy....I would wax up the screw good before screwing it into wet epoxy though...you could also tap the thread out after it set...(maybe safer)
  10. There has got to be a ton of these saws out there...you would think that as the clamp is one of the most important parts that it would of been better made...it would be a pity to let a good saw die over such a small part..(nice pics that you posted by the way)...I'll keep looking for a saviour for you..fingers crossed.
  11. Hi Jeff...could you post a pic of the broken part?...it will help us diagnose your problem better. Some great minds here raring to help out...

  18. Good one Marg....and THANK YOU to all the pattern makers here at SSV!
  19. Hi Chris...you have a powerful moving portrait going there.... but IMHO it is too busy...the face and his hand look great....maybe the grain of the wood would look better on the diagonal...running the direction of the cross?...the hammer shaft appears to be too thin....I think you are on to something good with this pattern though..I hope this helps and isn't being over pickey.
  20. Very nice work, photos, article...the list goes on... "I want a lathe now!" Thanks for sharing. Would be great to see a tutorial of this...hint hint..
  21. Very nice work Mike....thanks for sharing
  22. Hi Mike...I think IMHO that $100 is VERY reasonable for a piece of this kind of quality...It's not like you can walk into any store and buy a box like the one shown here. I hadn't noticed the pins till you mentioned them...I believe that you can pin hinges so you can't see the pin...It snaps over a pin put in place before the hinge is put on...probably more work to do it like that but thought it might spark some ideas for you... Again VERY nice work!...As you can probably tell...I really love boxes.....especially custom ones....
  23. Very nice work Mike...Thank you for sharing this with us....The cats in the hinges is a nice touch...love the detail.
  24. Nice job Chris....thanks for sharing It sure saves your back and neck when the saw is tilted, I'l have to try tilting mine some more now after seeing yours, I just have a 4x2 under the back of mine at the moment.
  25. VERY nicely done George ..thanks for sharing
