Hi all, this is my latest a desk top decor i made for my sis in law that works in an office. the hummingbird/flower design was made by christine. its about 14 inches long 5 inches wide, 6 inches tall, top was is sandeply, base is a 2 x 6 oak. burned with a propane torch, welcome and name plate is painted off white then torched to make it stand out, hope yall like i got the fretwork pattern from a site that offered free patterns, will post link when i find it. gotta hunt for it.
  8. HEY BULLDOG, AND TRAVIS, THANKS for the comments, yeah i acutally started using sandeply 1/2 thick, it does well, i tried luan once, but that breaks too easy. but if i get a special order for oak, cedar, etc, unless they specify, its cut on sandeply, and i started toching the sides with a propane torch, gives it a cool look plus 2-3 coats of poly. I stopped using stain, unless specified. thanks again for the feed backs Jim
