  1. The only part about sharpening the face of the tooth that bothers me is the fact that some of the carbide inserts that are in some of the saw blades are so thin that I would have a shorter life of the blade. I have been giving it some thought and want to make it so it will sharpen on the OD (outside diameter) of the blade. It shouldn’t make that much difference on the diameter of the blade but should give me a few more resharpes on the blade.
  2. I will probably buy one for the motor and spindle unit and then rebuild all the rails and such. They just build that stuff way to sloppy for my taste. I do a lot of machine building and revamping old machines for different industries so I just can't help myself when it comes to a machine like this. It is kind of like my scroll saw. If you look under the covers you will find a lot of parts that are not exactly original. It came with cheap plastic junk and bushings. As things got wore out I made the replacement parts out of good materials and replaced the bushings with bearings. Like I said I just can't help myself. If I added up all the time thru the years I probably have more $$ worth of time in that saw then a top of the line saw would cost me.Lol
  3. By the way you might want to move that away from the Acetone before you throw sparks with it. That stuff will put your shop up in flames in a big hurry. Lol
  4. I have one question. Does that sharpen the tooth on the OD of the blade or on the face of each tooth? I am thinking about building myself a real nice one. It is nice to be a machinist once in a while. Other then that You have all the COOL TOYS Kevin.
  5. WOW!!!!!!!!!! There isn't much wood left on that one. It turned out fantastic! Great job!!! I love the fret work art.
  6. I have been working with my scroll saw on and off for 20 years. (Mostly fret work) I don’t know about the newbies but I have learned a lot since I have joined this forum and every time I see one of your videos I always pickup something new. Thank You for all your work making these videos and to all the forum members for sharing their knowledge. I really enjoy seeing all the beautiful work and learning new things about my hobby.
  7. It looks to me like you have too many saws and not enough time. I could defiantly help you out with that! I have been eyeballing one of those yellow beauties but can’t swing a new one right now. My old 2 speed Dremel is wearing out fast with all I have been putting it thru lately. I purchased it about 20 years ago when I didn’t know if I would use a scroll saw very much. It has held up like a champ with about 1000 hours on it.( I figured I might get about 200 hours out of a cheap saw like that.) Anyway if you need to get rid of one of those saws just let me know. I would be more then glad to help you out. Lol Enjoy the new saw you lucky Dog you.
  8. Great job on the bear!! I have that pattern all prepped and ready to go on the wood. I just hope I can do it justice after seeing yours.
  9. WOW!!! I have trouble keeping up scrolling for 4 grand kids. You will need to be retired to have enough time to scroll for all those! Welcome to the group and have fun with all those grand kids.
  10. Very cute!!! I like it. Nice work
  11. After about 30 to 40 minutes I have to get up and stretch out my back and legs for 10 to 15 minutes Not to mention give my eyes a break. They aren’t as good as they use to be. Lol
  12. That is a great looking bowl. Thanks for the link to the pattern. Hope I can get around to making one for my lady. I also love the little mouse. I could think of a few places to put him that might startle someone.
  13. I got my order in today and the cherry was short by 2 feet (ordered 4’ and they shipped me 2’) so I gave them a call. They were very apologetic and said they would get some sent out right away. Very nice people to work with. Not to mention the wood I received looks fantastic!
  14. After placing the order on Jan. 2 the wood is going to arive today! Can't wait to lay my hands on it and get my project started.
  15. Looking Good! When do we get to see pictures of this shop?

  21. I worked up an order last night for an intarsia project I want to make. Now I will be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for it to get here. Of course I had to throw in a couple of pieces of really cool wood that I don’t really need right now but just had to get so I can find a project for them
  22. I took a picture of my grandson's dojo emblem and made the pattern to cut this project. I stack cut it so I could send him one for himself and give the second one to his instructor.
  23. WOW just took a look at their products and they are about half the price I have been getting my exotic woods for thru a place in Omaha with the shipping figured in. I will defiantly be putting an order in to these guys real soon. Thanks for the info.
  24. That is some BEUATIFUL work!!!! The only problem I have now is the girl friend saw it over my shoulder and she wants me to make her one. Where can I get the pattern for this? I only hope mine would look half as good as your work.
  25. My girlfriend works in the Veterans Home in Norfolk Nebraska. She just informed me that there puzzles are missing a lot of pieces and are impossible to put together. The members really enjoy putting puzzles together. I figure I will make a couple of puzzles out of an old calendar. I I am supposed to make them fairly simple with large pieces so the members can handle them. I don't really cut very many puzzles and exactly 0 free hand puzzles but I figured I'd give it a shot as long as its for the veterans. I think this would be a nice project to donate puzzles to the veterans in the name of scroll saw village so if anybody out there wants to make a couple puzzles and donate them to a local veterans home give a shout out.
