  1. This is number 9 that I have made for my best customer, It is 14.5 inches x 9 inches & was cut with 3/0 new spirals & No 1 ultra reverse blades. I really like the way this one turned out. Cheers Peter P.S the pattern is by Noel from the Scrollers Cafe.

  8. Wow what a beautiful & intricate piece.Amazing cutting Paul.
  9. I use a small foam paint roller About 2. i/2" in length &1 1/4"in diameter .I then load it up with PVA glue from a small tray & roll it over the back of the pattern you end up with a very thin layer of glue & no squeeze out.
  10. This was a birthday gift for my sister' in laws husband who is a very keen supporter of the Manly sea eagles (Sydney rugby league side). It took me some time to do as I had to match the colours & also the letters were cut out first then glued on.The rest was segmentation. I also made the frame. Cheers Peter
  11. Lovely neat work Marg. like them both
  12. My customer wanted a cutting of an Australian FJ Holden & as Australian patterns are a bit scarce I had to make my own pattern off a photo .I hope it turned out o.k. I wanted most of the veining to be a bit thicker so after cutting with a No1 flat blade I went over the cuts again with a spiral blade & found the spiral followed the original cut very well . I guess it takes the path of least resistance & so follows the cut near perfectly. Cheers Peter
  13. Welcome Bobby ,you have received a lot of tips already from our members & if you follow them you can't go far wrong. We all had to start somewhere but it is just a matter of lots of practice.Have fun with your new saw
  14. No Dick ,this one is a pattern by NOEL & it was in the Scrollers Cafe. Thank you for your comments.I really enjoyed doing this one even if it was challenging in a lot of places.Cheers Peter
  15. That's a beauty mate
  16. Made this one for my good customer who said he would take all I could make for him. I used 4 mm Marine Ply for this one & I mainly used No 1 silver reverse blade but I did use a 3/0 new spiral for parts of the front wheel & the spring at the top of the folks. Cheers Peter

  20. The last couple of weeks we have been through a severe heatwave with temperatures around the 40 degree mark or above.Today it is 42 & expected to hit 46 on Friday & that is celsius readings. Not much time spent in the shed .I manage to do a few jobs in the morning but the heat drives me back inside before lunch to sit under the cooler.Cheers Peter
  21. I was watching Adam's (Asunsell) video & decided to try & make one for my EX .Being a different saw this is how I went about it .Firstly I drew some pencil cross hairs on the table where the blade goes through .I then cut the piece of wood to go under the hole & fastened it by two small screws through two of the smaller holes that surround the the main blade entry hole,I had to grind the screw heads a bit to make sure they were flush with the table.I then poured a two part metal epoxy into the hole & when nearly set cut it off flush with the table with a razor blade,I then removed the screws & gave it a slight tap under the table with a piece of wood ,the wood came away with the new insert fixed to it.Then only a matter of re installing it & drilling a small hole for the blade .It won't be hard to replace it when it wears out & is a far better system than the playing card I had taped over the hole.Hope this makes sense

    Faith

This has been our saddest Xmas ever,my granddaughter Faith was born on the 19th Dec but due to many complications the life support was turned off on boxing day & the poor little thing passed away next day. It has made me think of others who might not have enjoyed a perfect Xmas, I made this Plaque for her parents which I think says it all.Peter
