  1. tks for info and going to look into getting one.
  2. Xray, price is good but what model and manufacturer is it? Search Ace Hardware on-line and unable to find it.
  3. the craftmans looks ok for pin-end blades but to change to plain-end blades you have to use a t-wrench to change both top and bottom I think would become tedious.
  4. had mine enough time for 6 projects and it developed a knock. Took it to a dewalt service center and they tried to fix (still bad when I picked up) and Dewalt ended up send me a new replacement DW788 for it. had the option of full refund or replacement, took 6 days to get.
  5. I got my Delta DW788 mid-March 2011 (6 weeks ago) and have only finished about 5 projects then had to take it back to a Delta service center. It had blade movement fore-aft of 1/8" and developed a knock. I took it in on a Friday and my son-in-law picked up last night (Wed) on his way home. Took it back this morning and showed the tech the problem still exists. No questions, they took it in and having a new one shipped directly from the factory to me. Guess I had a defective one; will know in about 8 days.
  6. mark, you are a wise man. the last pattern I did was a fret of a rose using FD SR 3's with not one chip. I believe now that they are a better blade han the UR's and just placed an order for a gross with Mike's Workshop. Them being less TPI per inch (7-vs-3) means more control. As soon as my order comes in I will redo using SR's.
  7. I am making a hummingbird (8x10" without borders included) ON 1/4" Baltic Birch using a Dewalt DW788 on slow speeds for control. Blades are Flying Dutchman FD-UR no. 5 with a no. 65 mini-bit pilot hole. Before starting, I sand down the good side, blue tape it entirely, then attach pattern to the tape using 3M spray glue. Doing all this I am getting chipping periodically and do not know how to resolve this. All help would be appreciated. Attachment show what I mean by chipping.
  8. Pueblo is also the home of Capt Bucher (USN). Remember the USS Pueblo Korean incident?
  9. Were can I get a replacement bulb for the DW788 worklight (DW7881)?
  10. Any of Steve's veteran plaques would be greatly appreciated at any VA hospital. I'm making several for the James Haley VA where most of our wounded hero's come to for spinal cord injuries.
  11. I got my Dewalt DW788 yesterday and finished a pattern (3D nativity) today. What a difference from my worn out Dremel 1800. No vibration, easy to change blades and setting. I should have done this a long time ago.......
