  1. I USE BLUE PAINTERS TAPE. I RAN OUT OF SPRAY GLUE ONCE AND USED SCOTTS GLUE STICK IT WORKED REAL WELL AND PEALS OFF EASY WITH NO MESS. JUST LIKE SPRAY GLUE ONCE IN A WHILE IT COMES LOOSE IN SPOTSBUT I HAVE A SITCK OF GLUE IN THE SHOP AND CAN RE ATTACH IT. ike
  2. I had all kinds of problems with blade slippage on my DW 788 I went to the hardware store and bought a tube for $5 and applied it to both tighten and have not seen any problems since screws. For $5 its well worth trying.
  3. Nice work Roly. But I don't like Snakes not even wooden ones IKE.
  4. Hello jerry welcome to the village. I wish yu would have seen me before you bought that porter Cable- A year and a half ago I bought one It lasted about 1 year and then broke down tore it apart and there was 2 parts broken in it, I could have had it fixed under warranty but I didn't think it was worth it. The blades were a little hard to install and th3 tension had to be set with each hole. then you had to adjust the tension. This time I bought a Dewalt 788 . I just now got it paid for I got it on an interest free credit card from Home Depot. and as far as blades go do not buy them from the big box stores. And if you get off the line a little never mind it you will be the only one to notice. Hope you have better luck with your porter Cable. buy your blades from a catalogue either Olson or Flying Dutchman. Bill
  5. nice way to thank a vet
  6. I did 7 craft sales last year and sold enough to make expensis with $600 profit in which I bought a DW 780. IKE
  7. When I was replacing my porter cable went and looked at one. It ran smooth and quiet it is not a variable speed, and it wasn't a quick blade change. it just wasn't for me.
  8. I have found out at craft sales you have to keep your prices at about $20. You don't make much money at that but I am doing it for fun and if I can make expenses + a little that is all right with me. and I will be falling this for some other input.
  9. Welcome Sam. You should check out Steve Goods scroll saw workshop for some patterns. IKE
  10. Welcome robin from Goshen Ohio. looking forward to seeing your projects.
  11. Welcome Dennis what Brand is your scroll saw and any samples of what you have completed IKE
  12. I took the blade guard off my table saw, I had the Blade set high and ran a 3/4 in stock thru it, Had the radio going and lost constriction and got my thumb in the path of the cut and cut my thumb completely off right at the knuckle and they couldn't sew it back on. I now have the blade guard in place, the blade is set just high enough to cut thru the wood, and the radio is in the trash. When you are using power equipment and loose constriction the chances of you getting hurt is great. It was my left hand so I can still mouth a Bass, So I can live without it.and still use the scroll saw. Some people never learn I have taken the blade guard off the scroll saw,
  13. Nice work, nice pattern
  14. I HAVE BEEN SCROLLING ON AND OFF FOR THE LAT 20 YEARS. WHEN YOU START WITHA CUT START ON A STREIGHT LINE FIRST IF POSSIBLE AND THE MOST NOTICED MISTAKES ARE ON A CURVE OR CIRCLE, YOU GET THEM AND ANY THING ELSE CAN BE FIXED. THIS IS NOT AS HARD AS SOME PEOPLE THINK IT IS WITH A LITTLE PRACTICE YOU WILL BE OK. BILL
  15. I THINK THEY SELL BETTER IF THEY ARE FRAMED. I GET MY FRAMES AT A GARAGE SELE IF I CAN FIND GOOD ONES, OTHER WISE I BUY THEM AT HOBBY LOBBY, THEY ARE ALWAYS ON SALE AT 50% OFF. I JUST BOUGHT 2 FOR $2.50 EACH.
  16. Those are great work I like the soft ball the best, I like animals but that Ball player is great.
  17. Good day Edmond- I now have a DW 788 I love it. I had a craftsman, a 20 incher for about 15 years. The new craftsman's don't look that good so I then bought a Porter Cable( for the price) It lasted about a year and then it fell apart, I tor it down and there was 2 broken parts in it. Then I bought the DW 788 and it is great, but the choice is yours. Good Luck c raftman 20 inch
  18. Nice job all the way around.

  22. I have had my Big Yellow for about 2 months and am still amazed how nice it cuts I had an old worn out craftsman and then a Porter Cable which was a piece of Junk . The weather hear has not been fit to go out and saw. but it won't be long now.
  23. I have used pine , but I don't care for it much. It breaks so easy at the grains and ends up as fire wood. I prefer, or popular cedar. with a couple of coats of water seal it holds up good thru the winters. I have made house # and given them a couple coats of water seal every couple of years and they still look good,
  24. Steve Good has a small HAND CRAFTED label on his web site that I use. Use my name, date and email address. you have to print small but it looks good to me.
