I usually make my first sale in August Don't do great make a couple of bucks but have a good time at it, meet people , get my name out there and have a good tie. But the best sales don't come up till Oct. That's when they customers start thinking about Christmas. think about it you have to build up your reputation then things will start to go your way. unless you are in a vacation area and those people always have money to spend. I do great on Nativity scenes and people come back for then for themselves and presents.\ IKE

I have had several of these over the last 25/30 years. as for spring and early fall sales if I make table and pass out cards and have a good time, it is worth while. If I was doing this for a living it would be something else. if I don't make table I don't go back to that sale. IKE

When stack cutting I use speed #5 on my DW 788. I can tell by how ut is cutting by feel and sound to either speed it up or slow it down, It all comes with experience The type of plywood has a lot to do with it. The cheep $11 per 4X8 ply chips at any speed. IKE

I love tight bond glue. It is stronger than the wood. I made a mistake and glued a project wrong, and found out that the only ting to remove the glue is VINEGAR If you are lucky IKE

my wife tells me what an item is worth. I know she is a little under what The market will bare so I take her price and add 10% to it . they usually sell for that if they don't I mark them down for my next sale. I never worry about what I make per hour, this is a hobby and I want to keep it that way. If i figure the per hour bit it becomes work and I retired from work. and don't want to go back. IKE

I buy the oak ply at Lowe's never had it chipping problems, the cost is $30 per 4X8 sheet.I usually use a #5Rr olson's blade.Our home Depot here handles nothing except Garbage Ply. There hard wood is usually pretty good just watch for war page The moisture is too high when it is planed. IKE

I buy the Oak ply that Lowe's have. it cost #30 for a 4X8 sheet.I have never had it chip on me, and the Home Depot has nothing but cheep ply $11 to $18 per sheet. It's ok for backing the project but not anything else. IKE

My experience with stacking . 3 is best 4 is acceptable and more is too much. IKE

It is under warranty take it back. I don't think Woodcraft does any warranty work. is there a Dewalt repair station near you? If there is that's what I would do. If you take it to woodcraft they will send it to a repair shop. That's what I did when the bearings went on mine It was under warranty at that time.Look it up on your computer.. The only problem with that is the down time, it took 3 weeks for mine. IKE

When using ply wood I but from Lows for the top piece. I but the Oak veneered solid core ply @ $30 a 4X8 sheet. Then for the back sheet ( Which i usely paint) I go to Home depot and use there underpayment @ 12 a 4X8 sheet. then give it a coat of spray Lacquer. No complainant about quality. IKE

When I start with a puzzle I set my blade square with the table using a 2" square if cutting thick stock over 1/4 " Then I let the blade do all the work not much pressure on the blade. and when going around corners no side pressure on the blade. IKE

All DW 788 do that. it don't seem to hurt anything just snowing. just tap the foot pedal or on button and you can set the arm up. Life is too short to worry about things like that.. IKE

I make very few patterns, I buy most of mine. for $3 to $& per pattern it's not a bad deal. it gives more time at the saw. I have several patterns that I have never cut, after I see themi donn't like them as far as stating size I ;have never seen one i couldn't cut on my DW 788. IKE

I compared them with last years scroller prices and some was higher then F.D. prices this year they had shark tooth for plain end blades and Olson's pinned . last year they only sold F.D. blades.

I just got my Scroller catalogue today. was looking it over and saw these blades. has any body ever heard of them or used them Scroller use to have Flying Dutchman's blades . I decided to check prices with there old catalogue and these are higher priced on about 1/2 and lower on the other 1/2. On pinned blades the now sell Olson's IKE

I wanted a device to hold the arm up on my DW788, I looked at the lift and click that Marge machined a while back for $20/00 I decided to make myself a lifter useing 1/4 plywood and a nylon bolt that is used on the toilet seat It took me about 1 hour to locate the parts and make the lifter. .It got worn out last week and I made another one, no sweat. IKE

Sccroller and Winfield collection are the same company I have ordered from Scroller and the lady taking the order said we would use the winfield catalogue for it was on sale there IKE
