Pressures of work, a remodeling project on my house and the need to get my taxes filed have all conspired to keep me out of the shop for awhile. But the last week I’ve been able to get back there and get a project finished.

I love it. That's a great piece.

Got distracted by that work thing they force me to do but I finally finished a project. Here are some pictures of a fretwork box with marquetry on the inside bottom and top of the piece. It's going to a couple that got married last year so that's the reason for the love birds.

Larry - just one cross but there are two levels to the stand so that might make it look odd in the picture. and yes, it was a lot of work to cut. I tried counting the number of holes and kept loosing track around 120. I spent a good two months cutting it at about a hour a day with a 0/2 blade. At the moment it's the piece I am most proud of and am going to make another one this spring - long story that I'll tell another time. Andrew

Just joined yesterday and I thought I'd post a picture of one of my finished projects. It's a cross about 11 inches high. Got the pattern from scrollsawer magazine. I stack cut three at the same time using 1/4 inch oak plywood that was left over from a bookcase I made.

Thanks for the welcom folks! I've got a fret work box with some marquetry on my work bench right now. It's in clamps at the moment. I'll post some pictures of it later today. Andrew

Just got my account here. Found the youtube video on GIMP, watched a couple and thought I'd get signed up here. I've been scroll sawing for a few years. Mostly I do fretwork but I also do a lot of marquetry. Sometimes I do other woodworking, mostly cabinetry. The next thing I want to get into is pattern making and cutting puzzles. Just wanted to say hello to all, Andrew
