  1. Great job on the basket. It looks very nice. The pattern of the one that I cut is on Fox's web page and it is a download so it only takes a few minutes to receive it and get to cutting Dick heppnerguy
  2. You just need to practice inlay and very soon you will have it mastered. Listen to me, telling you how to master things and I have sat here for a couple of years wanting to learn pattern making and especially portraits from photos and I still have not taken the time to learn it. Ha ha I guess I am all take and no action Dick heppnerguy
  3. I forgot to add the example I made for you to look at... Sorry for that. Here you go
  4. Really happy to hear about the progress for both you and Mary Ann. It probably seems really slow at this point but hopefully it won't be long and you can look back on all this and think it went pretty fast, after all Dick heppnerguy
  5. Good job on the order. Getting some extra work, really paid off. You did a really nice job on the pattern making as well as the cutting. My hat is off to you, once more Dick heppnerguy
  6. a wonderful and rewarding thing to do.. Working with the kids is so much fun, especially at this age. Nice thing for you and your club to do. Thanks to all who participated. I bet you will be asked again next year Dick heppnerguy
  7. I can't wait to see what you will do with baskets. You take all the ordinary things and find a way to make them all 'special things' I love your creativity Dick heppnerguy
  8. Here is a small modification for the small areas that may help some. If you are cutting it into a plaque , you will need these openings as I did with the 'D' and 'G' or you will end up with a hole instead of a letter, But I guess you probably already know all this. Just trying to help with a suggestion Dick heppnerguy
  9. If I find the snipping tool to start to be a problem, then I might look up your suggested program, but for now, I find it fast, easy and enjoyable so for now, I will stick with it. but thanks for the info Dick heppnerguy
  10. I just tried them for the first time a couple of days ago and I think they will be my go to blade for 1/4 BB Ply Dick heppnerguy
  11. nice pattern assortment Dick heppnerguy
  12. Very nice piece. It will be admired for a long time to come Dick heppnerguy
  13. I have been wondering where my long lost friend has been hiding. Now I can cut his picture and hang in on my wall to keep the boogey man away at night Dick heppnerguy
  14. Very creative and well done piece. You are great at coming up with fun and practical ideas.. This one is stunning Dick heppnerguy
  15. I knew before I opened your post, I was going to like it. You never cease to amaze me with what you come up with. Love this one also Dick heppnerguy
  16. How about today. They are easy to do. Go to Steve Good's page and you will find several free patterns there. Actually it was these little boxes that got me started in scrolling. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Rocky, What do you mean.. Steve Good has several free patterns for these and they are fast and easy to make Dick heppnerguy
  18. Lew, If you have not tried one yet, you will find these a piece of cake for you to make. There are several patterns for free, also on Steve Good's page. Go for it Dick heppnerguy
  19. Paul, This is a walk in the park for you. it is almost like starting all over again. So simple, quick and easy to assemble. I know yours will put mine to shame so I am glad I posted before you or I may not have wanted to post it at all. These are even easier than the wooden gear clock. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Good deal. I am anxious to see which one you cut. I enjoy making these baskets and bowls as they are not difficult and only take a short time to cut out Dick heppnerguy
  21. I hope she likes it. I had to make it for her when I saw the post from Felix Fox and went right away to his website and purchased it Dick heppnerguy
  22. Kevin, I am sure that you have probably made several baskets, yourself. No matter how difficult they appear, they are about the easiest pieces to cut out and assemble. But thanks for the vote of confidence anyway Dick heppnerguy
  23. Ha Ha Marg.. I really did not see the circles until I was finished with it. It really was a little different from other baskets I have cut. The odd shapes makes one a little more careful assembling it. You have to pay attention to what you are doing. It is just carefully aligning each row as you go. so the outcome is not present to you eye until you have it all glued up and then turn it upright and wham, the circular pattern comes to life. Dick heppnerguy
  24. I use the snipping tool often. all you do is click on it. then sometimes you need to click on 'new' and then you place your cursor on one of the outside corners of what you wish to capture and after you have exactly encompassed what you wish to save you click 'save as' and it goes to your photos, unless you tell it save it somewhere else. Nothing difficult to it Dick heppnerguy
  25. Great job on cutting and wood selection. It made what I thought was a rather simple looking pattern and really turned it into a true work of art. Very nice Dick heppnerguy
