  1. Welcome to our world wide family of really friendly and helpful people. You look like you have been one busy person, making saw dust and many nice projects. Hope to see a lot of you here. Dick heppnerguy
  2. Glad to hear you found that you liked to use the scroll saw and searched around enough to find the Village. This is one of the best places to hang out as all the people here are friendly and helpful. Hope to see you logged on often. Be sure and explore all the places here as there are many interesting and informative things for you to see Dick heppnerguy
  3. Nice chatting with you on the phone the other day. So glad you posted your phone number so we can give you a call for encouragement and a little comfort when it is needed. I will call you again and check to see how things are going. Dick heppnerguy
  4. I was thinking the same thing but by the time I got through with my meager effort to react in a humorous way, I forgot... Dick heppnerguy
  5. I used to use blue painter's tape and a large glue stick. I would put glue on the tape and the back of the pattern. After I had the pattern in place, I would take a paper towel or a rag and simply remove any over lapping glue on the blue tape with the paper towel or rag. never have I had a pattern come loose when cutting it if I glue both the tape and the pattern. Least expensive way to put the pattern on the wood also Dick heppnerguy
  6. I thought I would give your idea a shot. It just so happens that I too have a piece that needs to be removed and re-glued. So I soaked in vinegar, but quickly became way too expensive. I was not sure if it needed or if it could be diluted so I assumed it needed to be full strength. I only filled the tub 1/2 full and laid very flat in it, rolling over occasionally so that all my sides were covered well. I was so glad I live in Arizona right now because I believe that I would have gotten rather cold in the vinegar for 1/2 hour. I do not think it was long enough and I do not want to soak in it again, as my wife will not allow me in the same room smelling like vinegar. OH, and the wood pieces are still stuck together.. I think your idea stinks...no pun intended. Dick heppnerguy
  7. I had to go about it a little differently but I see it is all good now.. Best spent money I have ever spent Dick heppnerguy
  8. I did that and when I got to my second screen it said I was already paid up, but I know I am not. I guess I will have to text Travis if it does not show that I am on track today Dick heppnerguy
  9. I just made a post and saw that I am no longer a supporting member of this wonderful world wide family. If this is true for me, perhaps it is for you also. Go check and see if you are still a supporting member. If not, you probably will want to be, as I always try to support the things that help so many others, as this site does.. go check under your name when you post. 12. Welcome from Southern Arizona where it is in the mid 70's here. I have always enjoyed looking at the band saw boxes and now because you are with us, I should have some opportunities to see a lot more of them. Glad you found us and logged on Dick heppnerguy

  14. Becky, Welcome back to the Village. It is just always getting better. Some people come and go and thankfully we have the ones like you that remember it is a worthwhile place to leisure in. I decided early on in my scrolling that I was not going to do craft shows or put any pieces into shops or vineyards, and I have been invited to do so many times. the reason is because I could see early on that making things to sell would turn a fun thing, I truly enjoy, into a work thing, and soon I would become bored with it and I never want this to happen. I did open a Facebook page but I do not post to it very often. I use the sales I make to buy my supplies. I still love scrolling after more then 8 years of doing so and I believe it is because of my early decisions to not do craft shows. Glad you are going to get back into scrolling again, I like you, enjoy fret work the most. Oh, and your clock is beautiful. The kind of things I enjoy doing the most Dick heppnerguy
  15. Welcome John, I too am a native Oregonian, as I was born in Tillamook and lived in Oregon for 77 years and recently moved to Arizona. I have a cousin who also lives in St. Helens and retired from teaching school there, just last year. Travis, the one who originated and is our head bottle washer, lives in Vancouver, Washington and works in Portland. There are a couple of other Oregon people who live in the Portland area that are members here in the Village. Glad to have you as a member here. Hope to you post often. Dick heppnerguy
